AEE 1376: Grammar Part 5: How to Avoid Misunderstandings with Infinitives and Gerunds不定詞と動名詞の誤解を解く必ず不定詞、動名詞、どちらでも良い、色々な動詞であるが、特に代表的なものを覚えておけばよい<ポイント>Verbs that must be followed by the infinitive: 例 want, hope, seek (agree, appear, decide, demand, deserve).Verbs that must be followed by the gerund/verb+ing:例 enjoy, detest (appreciate, avoid, finish, keep, imagine, recommend etc.).Can be followed by either:例 love, hate (continue, neglect, like, prefer).Verbs where the meaning changes if infinitive or gerund is used: 例 I stopped eating” vs. “I stopped to eat. ” 食う為に立ち止まる、食うのをやめる“I regret informing you that I ate the cake” vs. “I regret to inform you that I ate the cake.”あんなことを伝えて残念、残念ながら伝える
