Today I had an online video chat with an English tutor living in Dublin. One of the topics we talked about was the current situation with the covid-19.

According to her, the covid is almost over in Ireland and everyone goes outside without a face mask. I envy that! In contrast, we still don’t see the end of the ‘covid tunnel’ in Japan, where almost everyone wears a face mask anytime anywhere (some experts recommend that we wear masks even at home!), news programs on TV keep delivering strong warnings reporting the daily number of new infections.

It seems for me that the Japanese society has been being controlled by some groups of people who are getting ‘benefit’ from this situation, such as clinics offering PCR tests with big advertisements,  experts who really want their presence on various media, etc.
