I've been meaning to write about this concert for a while now.
Anyway, Miki and I went down to Miyazaki for another Gackt concert shortly before we returned to England. The first thing we noticed was how laid back things in Miyazaki were compared to Fukuoka. Everyone was just kind of standing about unorganized like, where as the people in Fukuoka immediately formed a line in front of Sun Palace. Also many more people were in causal clothing instead of dressing up all nice and stuff. Thats cool! Considering how small the city is, there was a ridiculous number of white people there. The age range of the fans was even more extreme than in Fukuoka. The youngest person in attendance was a newborn and the oldest person could be a Grandmother. A lot of older people came with their children and it looked like both mother and son or daughter were fans in all cases.
The show itself was the exact same set list. No shock there, it was what I expected. The new songs all still sounded badass and in Fukuoka we thought that Gackt might have been lip syncing some of the time, just because the vocals were too perfect. But with better seats in Miyazaki, Miki is fairly certain he was not lip syncing at all. I wasn't really paying close enough attention to his lips to make a call.
Afterwards we met up briefly with a few friends of a friend and hung out and took pictures. One of them was a dude that was doing his best (a very good job at that) of looking and acting like Gackt. We were all getting our picture taken together just because, and a huge ring of people formed around us. Turns out they too wanted to get their pictures taken with the Gackt look alike. He was a good sport about it and let them all. We then made our way outside, said our goodbyes and called it a night.
One other thing that was different was the cd and dvd selling booth they had set up, in addition to the tour merch booths. We ended up buying the Diabolos tour dvd.
It is a impressively 2 dvd set, with a set list made up predominately with songs from Crescent and Diabolos. It also features Gackt riding a horse though the Tokyo Dome as part of the introduction. Much like the shows we went to, it features an intro movie and two other movie segments. With the earlier portion of the show being more serious than the middle part. The dvd tour though, features tons of back up dancers, where as the tour we went to had only a few.
Anyway, the dvd concert performance is really impressive, however I think the tour we went to was better.
