先週末の日本夏祭り / Last Week's Japan Summer Festival

This time I thought that I should write everything in English, and then all in Japanese. It is easier for me to think as I write.

This past week I worked as a Volunteer at the yearly Japan Summer Festival in Chicago. I started to this since 2008. In 2008 I actually performed Soranbushi, which is a kind of a traditional fisherman dance in Japan.

The following years I just worked as a volunteer and helped with the kids section, as well as Mikoshi . This year though, there were so many half Japanese half foreign kids and babies. They were all super cute.


Even a lot of the volunteers were half kids. In my section I worked with a Japanese/American, Japanese/Indian, Japanese/Serbian, and a Japanese/Polish, and a Japanese/Brazilian.

The following picture shows the Japanese/Serbian (left) and Japanese/Polish (right) girls.







This experience made me want to have a half kid in the future. (^∇^)

Mackarel Night / 鯖の煮付けの夜

Every Monday night I have dinner with few of my good friends.
毎月曜日は仲良い友達と晩御飯を作ります。



That night we prepared a mackerel dish. You can find some recipes on Cookpad.
その夜鯖の煮付けを用事しました。レシピをクックパッドで見つけられます。



As you can see from the pictures, we used a lot of vegetables.
写真のどおりに野菜が沢山使いました。


After dinner we went to visit my friend who is fighting with stomach cancer.
食事食ってから胃癌と闘病している友達を訪ねに行きました。

He lost a lot of weight, so according to the doctor ice cream is a good way to recover some of it.
凄く痩せたので医者さんにより回復を遂げる為にはアイスを食べたほうがいい。

I wonder what we should cook next time!
今度は何を作ろうかな～～

My weekend / 今週末

This weekend was a little slower than my usual weekends.
今週末は普通のと比べたらだるかったのです。


This is partly due to the bad weather that we are having.
最近は天気が悪くなったことが一つの理由である。




Last Friday I met two friends after not seeing them for a long time.
先週の金曜日は久しぶりに二人の仲良い友達会いました。

First I went to Starbucks to see a school friend. She is originally from Turkey.
まずはスタバで学校の友達を見に行きました。もともとトルコ人です。


After that I picked up some beer and went to my friend's place and had a guy's night.
それからビールを買いに行って友達の家でガイズナイトが始まりました。


Finally I was able to meet one more buddy that I couldn't see for a while due to the busy accounting season.

  アカウンティングシーズンで手が塞がっていた会計士として勤めている友達をやっと会えました。

 



Guy's night is went like this. We ate, drank, had guy talks, watched a couple movies, then passed out from the drinking.
ガイズナイトはこうなりました。食べたり飲んだりガイズトークしたり映画を見たり爆睡したりしました。

On Saturday I was super tired during the day, so I couldn't meet up with a friend in downtown. I slept most of the time.
土曜日は昼間にめっちゃ疲れてて下町に友達に会えないことになりました。ずっと寝てました。


However my mood changed later and I ended up going to my usual hang out place, Cocoro restaurant.
それなのに後で調子がよくなってココロというレストランに結局いくことになりました。



There I had shoyu ramen along with Kirin beer.
そこでしょうゆラーメンとともにキリンビールを呑みました。

A gentleman from Nara came to the restaurant as well. Looks like he is promoting a sake brand that is not sold yet in Chicago.
奈良県から着きました方も来まして、まだ売られていない酒ブランドを提供しに来ました。



It was called Takachou. It was hi
g
h grade sake and had a real good taste. Otokoyama was no match.
鷹長と呼ばれています。純米ぎんじょうであり、凄く美味しくてすスパークリングワインのようでした。男山は鷹長にかなわない。

After a good meal and some sake, next place I headed to was Murasaki, which is a pretty popular sake lounge.
良いご飯と酒を食ってから次に向かってた場所は紫でした。かなり流行ってる酒ラウンジです。


I drank a little bit there and then called it a night.
そこで少々呑みまして夜が終わりました。

Sunday I stayed in. With the rain and thunder, I didn't feel like going outside.
日曜日は引きこもりの日。雨と雷によって外にでる気がありませんでした。

Instead I watched a couple movies on Netflix and decided to write this blog.
むしろ、NETFLIXで映画を見ました。そしてこのブログを書こうと思いました。

Oh and since I gained some weight..... I did some exercise.
ところでちょっと太りましたのでうちに運動しました。

I don't have space to do P90X or Boot Camp, but I did some jumping jacks, sit ups, push ups, and pull ups with this pull up bar.
P90XとBoot　Campに必要なスペースがありませんでしたので簡単な体操をしました（あたりまえ体操ではない　笑）。ジャンピングジャックや腹筋や腕立や懸垂（プールアップ？）などをしました。

I got a protein shake afterwards for effective recovery.
効果的な回復のためプロテインシェークを飲みました。
