Apple reportedly moving to build its own

Apple iPhone iPad ProcessorsApple has designed its own processors for the past few years, however it has contracted various manufacturers to produce them. Now, a new report suggests that the company may soon begin producing its own chips from start to finish. According to SemiAccurate, Apple has bought into an unnamed chip fabricator, possibly Taiwan-based chipmaker United Microelectronics Corporation, to help the company produce its own processors and other chips. Apple hadand . Its manufacturing partners have struggled with keeping up with the demand for the companys popular products, however. It should be noted that SemiAccurate has a spotty track record when it comes to Apple and microchips. The website previously claimed in 2011 thatin its MacBook computers.
