You guys have to remember Pierre isn't hurt that's the main thing. I think you guys are correct that there's nothing like serious competition to hone skills, but Pierre got his contract. I also agree PT is excellent on screens I know I harp on it all the time, but that touchdown in the Super Bowl was just a superb, instinct play. I'll confess: I am a Pierre Thomas fan. I think he's an outstanding player.

Please note the correction I've made above re: Stinchcomb. He signed a 5year deal in February 2009. I was bouncing, "Stinch" and "Strief" around in my head and got them confused. Strief, who was not tendered prior to the old CBA expiring, would be either a restricted or unrestricted free agent, like Bushrod, depending on the terms of the new CBA. Stinchcomb, of course, remains under contract. I apologize for the mistake.

Poydrasscalp (and something about your name makes me wonder if you are a season ticket holder!), I'm happy to take up your questions. Can't guarantee you'll like the answers.

As for Tom Benson apologizing, I'm not aware that he has. Then again, he would take issue with your characterization www.shopColtsnfljersey.com of Womens LaRon Landry Jersey his actions and intentions following Katrina. I'm not taking sides here I think Jeff Duncan's book provides evidence to back up your position, and I think all of us who were in New Orleans during those turbulent days were puzzled and concerned by the signals coming from Mr. Benson. But his comments and plans during the 2005 season aren't topics he returns to, which means I doubt any "apology" will ever be uttered.

As for your second question, we did report on the ticket issues but not on the exchange between Greg Bensel and WWL. The editors make that call but there are, I think, some defensible reasons for it. For one, we all have www.shopcoltsnfljersey.com/WOMENS-LARON-LANDRY-JERSEY.html stormy periods with the people we cover even people in the Living section have to deal with irate artists or chefs at times, and you can be sure when you're dealing with the money and egos that go with sports or politics no reporter doing his job will emerge unscathed. So in that sense there is an element of "inside baseball' to the WWL v. Bensel spat. Similarly, I don't recall WWL or anyone else reporting on dustups I or some other TimesPicayune or television reporter might have had with a coach/player/executive. It kind of goes with the territory. I'm glad WWL ran that story and I wish The TimesPicayune would be more willing to publish stories about egregiously shoddy behavior, but there is a genuine and legitimate reason for news organizations to not make themselves the story. In that sense, I can see why the story you reference in your question didn't get addressed in the newspaper.

WhoaSwag: We do pick and choose questions we have no choice because there are way more than we can answer in an hour or less. That's not a complaint we appreciate all of you participating and if we didn't get you this chat we'll try to get you next one. Mike and I do try to group questions often. For example, a lot of people asked about Junior Galette (doubt he'll play); a lot of people asked about defending Tony Gonzalez, and of course there were a lot of questions about offensive production and Mike and I tried to answer those in bunches or by singling out a more sweeping question on the topic. Sorry if yours didn't show up today try again before kickoff Sunday.

Well, I'm not sure the wind won't play a role with Hartley, basaint, but I do agree with you about the Baltimore/Cincinnati games. You'll recall that was the one thing Payton said he didn't want to see before the schedule was released: having to play cold weather games against tough opponents. And what does he see? Ravens and Bengals, on the road, in December. Could be brutal (although maybe not as much if Cincy loses again this weekend and their season starts to go south).

Jeffnkenner: Always open to instructive criticism and I was impressed by LSU students when I spent the last four years up there! I actually had a bit about Jenkins in this story when I filed it Thursday night and am not sure why it's not here now. I think I quoted Payton talking about how well the team tackled and his quote about how the DBs effectively took over the routes downfield. But perhaps more on that would have fulfilled the insightful, outofthebox mandate. I'll try to get a little bit better each day.
