Detroit Lions' Corey Williams facing DWI charge from 2011 arrest
Detroit Lions defensive tackle Corey Williams was not part of this year's crop of offseason arrests, but was in court earlier this week for a previous arrested.
According to Monticello Live, Williams was in court this past Wednesday on previous DWI charges. Williams was very polite with the officer, as he failed the field sobriety test at the scene, and was then arrested. William reportedly blew a .10 on the BAC test. .08 is the legal limit. He was charged, and soon released.
"Williams attorney, Rickey Hicks (Little Rock) filed a motion to suppress the traffic stop and subsequent charges, in a motion to the court claiming that Williams was racially profiled, and did not cross the center line. His motion stated that Williams and all passengers in the vehicle were AfricanAmerican.
"Hicks also claimed that www.cowboysonlineofficialstore.com/cowboys-tony-romo-jersey-c-5_15.html Williams "was driving a Ford F650, which is an unusually large Ford pickup truck, Tony Romo Jersey with unusually large wheels and tires."
The District Judge (Ken Harper) apparently took Hicks' claim "under advisement" and is expected to rule within the next week.
Detroit released this statement after news of Williams' surfaced this afternoon:
"Corey did not report this incident to us when it happened due to the prohibition of contact during last year's work stoppage. We Tony Romo Women's Jersey are aware Tony Romo Youth Jersey of today's reports. We are in the process of gathering more information and will have further comment when appropriate."
