Gym flooring is a fundamental component for comfort and correct operations of a gym. Several factors should be considered before purchasing a new gym floor. These are playability, durability, longevity, maintenance and price. A gymnasium floor requires a specific grip.
Rubber gym flooring is a popular flooring used in gymnasiums. It has high durability and is comfortable to the feet. Solid rubber flooring provides protection for equipment. Rubber floors are easy to install and clean. Vinyl and laminated floors are also widely used. Vinyl is easy to clean and comes in a variety of styles and designs. But it is vulnerable to water damage. Vinyl lasts for a long time, but the chances of peeling are high. Vinyl sheet gym flooring is flexible. There are also engineered wood floors, bamboo flooring, laminate wood floor and hardwood flooring.
There are tile gym floors designed to have the same rigid feel as a wooden floor, with less noise and no moisture problems. Gym flooring tiles are installed over rubber underlay for added noise reduction and surface flexibility. However, moisture always finds its way through the seams of tile into the rubber underlay.
Gym floor covers are used to protect gym flooring, reduce maintenance costs and to turn the gymnasium into a multi-use facility. Some gym flooring mats are built totally with PVC. They have a pressed anti-slip surface, and are comfortable, safe and stable. Some gym flooring mats are made of premium rubber material and have interlocking edges, borders and covers. Some have interlocking tiles designed specifically for gymnasium activities. They absorb shock and noise that is caused by heavy gym equipment and have long lasting durability. Other gym flooring mats are made of recycled rubber.
Many people want to work out or have considered doing so, but most of them dread going to the gym. The gym seems quite intimidating for many people. People are quite judgmental. Eyes will follow you once you enter the doors. It doesn't matter how small or big you are, people will look you up and down and form their own judgment about you. Not surprisingly, many people consider working out at home or in a private gym.
The Kinds of People You Will Deal in Commercial Gym
Aside from the many disadvantages of working out in a public gym, you will also have to deal with the different kinds of people working out in a public or commercial gym. There is the muscled up meathead who wears crazy pants and a man purse.
He is sweaty and often out of breath. Then there is the loud screamer who often tries to lift weights that he cannot handle. Not surprisingly, he often ends up yelling and grunting out loud. It would have been okay if he was lifting an insane amount of weight.
Occasionally, you will find people who are working out just to look for a date or a hook up. Not surprisingly, this makes many women quite uncomfortable. Of course, there are women who are also hitting the gym to look for potential dates. These are the women who are often wearing little strips of clothing. These are just a few of the people you will encounter in a commercial gym. It is not surprising that many newbies are quite intimated.
Working out at Home or in a Private Gym
If you can afford a home gym, then that is great. Unfortunately, gym equipment does not come cheap. Maybe you can buy a couple of pieces or three, but not everyone can afford to purchase everything he will need for a full body workout. An alternative to working out at home is training in a private gym. Yes, it may be difficult to get into Planet Fitness, but there are many private gyms that are not that expensive. They also screen their members quite well. There are private gym owners that do not accept just any Joe with money.
It is, however, a VIP club with strict admission policy. Not everyone can qualify and money does not determine membership. Members are treated fairly and nobody is discriminated. Members are given the best service, equipment and facility. They are treated like celebrities. Members respect each other and they do not have to worry about being made fun of. They can train and sweat without feeling uncomfortable. Working out at home is definitely a great option, but you can also choose to train in a private gym and reap the same benefits.
