This watch is a great size, and arguably much more wearable than the previous 5040, which was the OTHER non-round perpetual calendar from Patek made some years back. Inside this perpetual is the caliber 240 Q, which is something of a benchmark movement both for Patek and for the industry in general. This micro-rotor movement is incredibly thin and versatile, allowing the 5940G to come in at just 8.6mm. The movement is nothing new – in fact it's quite old, having been introduced for the first time way back in 1977.
