Being My Own Boss Being more of a leader than a follower, I thought it best to come up with my own business along with my most trusted friends. The people closest to me would know that “I’m more of a leader” easily translates to “I refuse to work for anyone”. You know how they say “once you go black…” let’s just say the same idea applies to being your own boss. Believe me I’ve tried, and in all fairness to my previous employers, they also tried. Though our efforts remained futile,Nike Free Run, being the nonconformist that I am I never got to come around simply complying with rules and acting upon demands. How could I possibly forget working for an Orange Country outdoor advertising company for only half a day? In my defense, my direct superior took advantage of my newbie status that on my first (and last) day of work I had to come up with at least five different concepts for this advertising signage Orange County campaign. It so happened that no one in our (un)creative department were able to pitch anything substantial or doable the least. Early on I knew there was clearly no point in staying in such unproductive environment. One disastrous job did not stop me from working for lesser individuals who were just lucky enough to land positions that were high up the ranks. Oh, the irony. My next venture was with another company specializing in outdoor advertising in Orange County. Absolutely no problem work wise – work expectations, work load and quality of work most especially. But like I said, there were high-ranking lesser ones who I had to work for. Well, a particular old and balding boss wanted me under him, literally. Someone tell me that was not a good enough reason to leave. Number of failed jobs: two, number of nearly hopeless workers: one, number of dollars saved: zero. Not wanting to be labeled a quitter, I took my chances with one more Orange County billboard agency. Third one’s the charm after all, or so it was believed. In no time I was leading campaigns for Orange County billboards. The title “Employee of the Month” was mine and mine alone. I was already one of the highest paid after barely three months. But as we all know, no good deed goes unpunished. A whole lot of my co-workers saw me as the biggest threat in the competition,http://nikefreerun.blogeasy.info/, perhaps thinking we were on “Survivor” or some reality series of the sort. Not one to back down, I stood my ground,Nike Free, firmly at that. But it came to a point when I just got tired of it all. That’s when I got to thinking that I was better off working for myself.I don’t think I’ll be finding another job anytime soon. Right now I’m employed and happy. And when I thought doing what you want and being paid for it was but a far-fetched dream.
