The Asia Information Retrieval Societies Conference (AIRS) aims to bring together researchers and developers to exchange new ideas and latest progress in the field of information retrieval (IR). The scope of the conference covers applications, systems, technologies and theory aspects of information retrieval in text and multimedia data. The AIRS 2012 welcomes submissions of original papers in the broad field of information retrieval. We particularly welcome papers on IR for Asian languages.
All accepted papers will be published as part of the LNCS series from Springer, and will be EI-indexed.

The AIRS 2012 proceedings will be published as an LNCS volume. Submissions should follow the instructions available at http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-7-72376-0 . Submissions should not be longer than 12 pages in the LNCS format. In addition, papers should be anonymized. Submissions that do not follow these guidelines will be rejected unconditionally. Duplicate submissions (the same paper being submitted to AIRS 2012 and to another conference at the same time) are strictly forbidden; if detected, these submissions will be unconditionally rejected.

The Asia Information Retrieval Societies Conference (AIRS) aims to bring
together researchers and developers to exchange new ideas and latest
achievements in the field of information retrieval (IR). The scope of the
conference covers all the aspects, including applications, systems,
technologies and theory, of information retrieval in text, audio, image,
video, multimedia and social data, but with a particular emphasis on
handling Asian languages.
The AIRS Steering Committee invites interested parties to
submit bids to host AIRS 2013.

NTCIR (NII Testbeds and Community for Information
access Research) is a sesquiannual evaluation forum
for tackling various information access problems,
with a particular emphasis on multilingual tasks.
The First NTCIR Workshop (NTCIR-1) was concluded in
1999. Over a decade later at the Ninth NTCIR Workshop
(NTCIR-9, concluded December 2011),
ninety research teams from fourteen countries/regions
participated in one or more tasks.
