先々週末、台風19号の被災地,長野市へボランティアに行ってきました。We’ve gone to Nagano city which got severe damage by the Typhoon Hagibis to do some work as volunteers.
僕が今回訪れた長野市は、台風19号に伴う大雨で千曲川の堤防が決壊し、多くの家屋や農園などが浸水被害を受けました。
Nagano city got inundated since the Chikuma Riv. dike had been cut because of the typhoon.
ボランティアに参加して、家の中の泥を取り除く作業をしましたが、想像以上に繊細な作業で、思った通りには作業が進みませんでした。。
それもあって、台風上陸から1ヶ月以上経つものの、まだまだボランティアの支援の手が必要なことを感じました。
We tried to remove mud which sticked to everywhere in a house, however it didn’t proceed well since it was sensitive and time-consuming work.
So, we felt there must be bunch of people are required still.
みなさんもボランティアには興味があるけど、参加に至るまでがよくわからない、大変そう、などで参加出来ていない方もいると思います。なので、ボランティアするまでの流れを共有しますね！

■ボランティア 参加に至るまで / Till joining as volunteers

STEP2 事前準備 / Pre-preparation
・ボランティア保険への加入
Processing into a volunteer insurance
-ボランティアをする上で、実は保険が必要です。ただ、500円未満〜という値段で一定期間入れるため、そこまで気負いする必要はないと思います。
現地でも加入できますし、クレジットカードをお持ちであれば、上記のウェブサイトでも事前に加入ができます。(2019/12/1現在)
You must be required to be covered by a volunteer insurance before doing work as volunteers. It costs less than 500 jpy as the cheapest and you can do volunteer work as many times as you want while you’re covered by that.
・宿泊先の準備 / Reserving your accommodation
-特に遠方からの参加であれば、ボランティアをするあなた自身が宿泊する場所を確保します。友人の家に泊めてもらうことをお願いしたり、ゲストハウスや民宿への宿泊とすると比較的お財布に優しいと思います。
Especially if you’re coming far, better book accommodation. If you ask your friends who live nearby, using guesthouse or local area accommodation could be reasonable options to stay.

・高速道路 無料化の申請用紙 / Application forms to get complimentary Expressway access
【自家用車で現地に向かう場合 / In case of going by a car】
-ボランティアをすると、自家用車で行った場合、被災地までの往復の高速道路料金を無料にできるんです。(2019/12/1現在)
方法は、以下のウェブサイトから、申請用紙を出力・記入して往路・復路のICで用紙を提出するだけ。
(別途、身分証と、復路の申請書にはボランティアセンターでもらえる押印が必要です。)
If you come by a car and will do volunteer work, can get complimentary round-trip access to the volunteer field from your home through expressway.
In order to get that benefit, just filling out forms and submit at each entry and exit gate of IC. (It’s required a stamp on a paper for heading back to your home that you can get after the volunteer work.)

STEP3 ボランティアで被災地へ貢献！/ Contributing as a volunteer staff

Got it? Even if you wanna go by your car for traveling, since expressway can be complimentary, that might be helping out your budget and also you can contribute in some extent, so not a bad idea I suppose.
被災地ではこれからの季節、雪も降ります。(実際降っている地域もあります。。)私たちの力で助け合い、被災地が1日でも早く復興するよう力になってみませんか？
Winter is coming. Snow is falling in some areas. Why not helping out to let local peoples’ lives get back ASAP?
