New Teachers

The weather is getting sticky. 

That is to say: the humidity is rising.

Coming from Scotland, I’m not so

happy with hot or humid weather.

Scotland’s climate is like that of

Hokkaido’s.

Anyway the English courses at

indy Folder are becoming more

and more popular and this month

2 new English Conversation

Instructors will start working at the

company. One is Todd from

Canada and the other is Joseph

from the U.S.A. Now, these guys

both have a lot of English teaching

experience and they’re going to be

great for the courses.

I’m looking forward to working

with them.

We can now boast three

English Conversation teachers

from California in the U.S.A, two

Canadians and a Scotsman.

Or, people from somewhere

warm and people from

someplace(s) cold!

キ・ケ・ンな年末TOEICチャレンジ

こんにちは

青山校のU田です。

いやー早いもので、今年も半分が終わろうとしています。

そこで私たちインディーフォルダ英会話スタッフとして、

共に何かを成し遂げようではないか と、思い立ち、

とってもステキな企画を立ち上げました

その名も

年末TOEICチャレンジ

各自、今のレベルより150～200点アップのTOEIC目標スコア

を設定、申告し、今年最後のTOEIC公開テストでそのスコアを

クリアする、という至って健全な企画です。

た・だ

「あーダメだったー」で終わってしまっては意味がない。

そこはインディーフォルダ英会話の裏コンセプト、

　Sなスクール　

にのっとり、ハイリスク・ハイリターンな企画とする予定です。

まず参加費として、「結構な金額　万円」をベッドします。

例えば、この参加者が5人いて、参加費が2万円だったら、

10万円がプールされるわけです。

そして年末。5人中、目標スコアをクリアできた人数で、

その10万円を分配します。

1人しかクリアできなかったら10万円総取り、

5人ともクリアしたら単に参加費が返却されるだけです。

「お金で済むならいいよ」なーんて開き直る人が出るのも

想定されるため、目標に達しなかった人には、

さらに罰ゲームも考案中。

年末の打ち上げの席で、何かとんでもなく恥ずかしいこと

をしなくてはなりません。現在、男女とも「水着でアツアツおでん」案が

最有力ですが、何かよい罰ゲームがあれば皆さん是非教えてください。

今年最後のTOEIC公開テストは11月29日

あらあら、あと半年ないですね。

スクールとして、企業として、広く皆さんにこの企画をお誘いするわけにはいかないのですが、プライベートとして、あなたのお友達U田のこの企画に参加したいっという方は歓迎します。

ちなみに英会話の日本人スタッフは強制参加。

もちろん私も参加します。

私の目標スコアは…985点

　ホントは990点と言いたいところですが、

カンペキな女は可愛げがないので(←言い訳)

5点の余裕を持たせてもらいます

いつかは取りたいTOEIC目標スコア。

「いつか」は「今!」です。

一丸となってTOEIC目標スコアを達成しましょう!!

Good Company

Hello everyone!

Today, I’d like to talk about a movie I saw about age, work, and friendships.

In my hometown, Los Angeles, many people care about age. But we think age is mostly only important for your body.

Old people want to look and feel younger. And young people want to look and feel older.

And in Hollywood , many older people do a lot of exercise or get surgery to look and feel young.

But here in Japan, age seems more important. People who are older than you are called “my senior”. And people who are younger than you are called “my junior”.

But what would you think if your “junior” was smarter than you AND your boss

The American movie I saw was about that

A worker in his 50’s gets a new boss who is in his 20’s That’s half his age

But, in the movie, they become friends.

The movie’s name is “Good Company” and the famous actors in it are Dennis Quad, Topher Grace, Scarlett Johansson, & Selma Blair.

The movie asks an important question: is age really important for work and friendship
