Haha EOYs are finally over. Damn the effects of the tea i drank earlier are really beginning to kick in. Feeling totally alert now at 2:32am in the morning. Damn.

Anyway, this is part 2 of my Bemani life so far.

Hmm, let's see. Well, I only 'seriously' started DrumMania in January, when school reopened, since it was a lot easier to get out of the house due to school. Hmm... Back then, I wasn't really that hardcore, or cared a big deal about e-amuse. Heck I didn't even know where to buy those cards anyway, so I frequented Northpoint's timezone which had V5, spending about 10 credits a week.

Then one day, on the Sgcafe forum, this forumer called Asuna-Setsuna posted about where the rest of the guys were going to play. I told him I was going to be at Northpoint on thursday night. He agreed through PM and we exchanged numbers.

Little that I know that this guy had the highest sp in Singapore -_-.

Anyway, the days passed real quick and soon, it was thursday. On the bus, my friend called me and told me about 2 imba dudes. One of them was playing at speed 1.0x. Back then I was like whoa. But I realised much later that this guy was a total fag and sour grape. I'm not going to say who it was, but that was my impression of him on the forums.

I inserted my credit when I reached the arcade and waited for my turn. Once the current player had finished, I recognised the next guy as Asuna-Setsuna. I wasn't prepared for what I saw. When he played sound of truth, I was like HOLY MOLY! CCB FUCKING IMBA SIA. He was like getting perfects for almost everything. I was really impressed. Next, he chose Crawl and almost Maxed it. HA! I couldn't even pass Crawl that time as I was still doing 30s without auto, so that was a good start?

In any case, after his credit, he left a lasting impression on me that I will probably never ever forget.

The next day, I bumped into him again, as he had a break or something from camp due to chinese new year. That day, he taught me a few things, such as how to hit pads and bounce sticks and he even told me about how e-amuse could motivate me into becoming a better player. After thinking it through, I decided to get a card.

In V5, TKA dominated all the e-amuse traffic. Did I mention that it was damn expensive at that time? $2.00 for 4 stages (grand prix) OMG. Although 1 stage=1 long, long songs get boring easily. MyV5 card name was BERRY.SG by the way. I didn't know how to chiong sp or songs so I just randomly played stuff. Eventually at the end of V5, I was about 200 sp.

My first FC, if you're curious, is Glamorous Sky ADV. I fc-ed it on 30/01/09. What time, I do not know. Sheesh.

For the next few months, until April, I frequented northpoint, until V6 arrived. (To be continued.)

After looking at the skill lists of some people who are around my sp level, I seriously envy their high percentages.

I guess the only way to be happy is not to compare yourself with other people. Dm is supposed to be fun laaa! Screw the idiot who came up with this chionging sp mentality.

Experiencing new songs and struggling with their charts is what i call FUN dammit.
Hmm... While waiting for my lunch, I've decided to write an entry on my Bemani life so far. This is probably going to be the first and last 'Long' post you will probably ever read in my blog, so do pardon me if it's not quality, since my english isn't really that up to par anyway.

OK! Let's begin.

I was introduced to my first Bemani game called drummania by a very close friend of mine (We've known each other since P3 yo) who put up TONS of drummania autoplay videos on his 'video blog'. Back then, I already had a hobby of my own, which was speedcubing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speedcubing

Needless to say, I couldn't really give a shit about some arcade game called drummania since there was always this mentality that arcade games were a waste of time and money. I mean, come on, 2 hours of LAN gaming would probably cost you $4 at the most back in those days. He continued babbling about drummania, and I continued to ignore the countless links to drummania videos he typed on MSN.

Soon... It was the september holidays. I was just minding my own business (Playing the com, speedcubing, etc.), when all of a sudden, my best friend called me and asked if I would like to go for this eat-all-you-want sushi buffet thing at the Sakae Sushi outlet at northpoint. I agreed.

To our dismay, we found that the Sakae Sushi outlet at northpoint had been closed due to upgrading of the shopping centre. Luckily, we had a backup plan and went to the nearest outlet Sun Plaza instead. When we reached there, I was pretty hungry already since I had skipped lunch, knowing I could eat as much raw fish as I wanted.

BUT!

The outlet was just a few steps away from an arcade on the same floor. Seeing this, my friend made a mad dash for the arcade and found a 10th mix machine inside. It should be 10th mix, since I still remember that gayish pink theme ROFL. Anyway, he borrowed the sticks and started playing. That was my first time I ever saw a drummania machine in real life.

In my opinion, it wasn't really that impressive, since there were only 5 pads. (Back then, I hadn't really noticed there was a pedal) And! I clearly remembered seeing the word 'auto' whenever pink notes reached the line. LOL autoass. Damn! I was really full after that buffet!

Anyway, time passed really quickly and before I knew it, EOYS were over and I was really bored. So one day, I asked my best friend on MSN to teach me how to play drummania, since I wanted to be able to play something in the arcade and not get owned *Cough daytona cough*.

A few days later, we went to the V5 machine at Plaza Singapura and i tried drummania for the first time. Autobass of course. Anyway, my friend was a real asshole. No kidding. He picked some level 20 song and i failed it on my first credit. Then i inserted another credit and tried a level 10 song which I will never ever forget. Na-na-na. I failed it again -_-. I was getting really discouraged. I hadn't even played for 5 minutes and I had spent 4 bucks? That's really lame. Anyway, I got off the seat and let my friend play, I don't really remember much, but he played FSW ext autobass. On the last stage, he picked this awesome song which probably got me hooked on listening to J Pop and J Rock since I loved it so much. ESCAPE TO THE SKY! BUNNY! ROFL.

After that day, I became somewhat hooked on drummania. Soon, northpoint's timezone upgraded to V5 and i frequented that place a lot, since i skipped my swimming lessons for it. Damn, back then in the eoy holidays, I was forced to go for this competitive swimming program which I had to go for everyday from 5-8pm or something. I hated it to the core. Thankfully, I had some awesome J rock tracks to listen to, ash like snow from the brilliant green to name one.

Then one day, while googling, I came across this local DM/GF forum and introduced myself there. http://sgcafe.com/showthread.php?t=32150&page=69 That was my first post haha. To cut a long story short, those forumers told me not to autobass, since it was really stupid. I listened to their advice and passed Glide Bsc that night xD.

However, I was reluctant to play without auto, so i played a mix of both auto and non-auto.

Speaking of this, I can still remember the incredibly stupid things I did when i first started DM. 空言の海 bsc autobass. WTF MAN. That song's supposed to be a bass intensive song, Actually I already knew that from looking at the radar. I didn't really care anyway. I just wanted to be able to pass a level 20+ song.

My best friend made a friend and under his influence, he stopped autobassing. Soon, he passed sot ext and strike party ext. One day, he gave me this INSANE song to play. Without auto, mind you. Marigold Adv. Back then, that song killed me. Off beat and constant bass. That was really hard and I failed it over and over again. I almost gave up. Eventually I passed it this year during the chinese new year with a C.

Well, this probably sums up the first part of my DM life before 2009. Will probably write about my 2nd half after EOYS.

See ya xD

A man with a pierced ear is more prepared for a relationship. He's experienced pain and bought jewellery. Haha, I swear, exams are making me crazy, causing me to type unrelated stuff, so don't mind me yeah?
Doesn't it seem like everybody just shouts at each other nowadays? I think it's because conflict is drama, and drama is entertainment and entertainment is marketable. Finding consensus and common ground is dull! Nobody wants to watch a civilised discussion that acknowledges ambiguity and complexity. We want to see fireworks!

We want the sense of solidarity and identity that comes from having our interests narrowed and exploited by like-minded zealots! Talk show hosts, political candidates, news programs, special interest groups... They all become successful by reducing debates to the level of shouted rage. Nothing gets solved, but we're all entertained.

Finally updating after so long. LOL what's with guys and specs man. WOOOO. SMEXY! Me likey. xD

I seriously don't get some people. A guy gets H1N1 and you guys rejoice? How about that? Idiots.

ARGH sorry peepos, forgot to update yesterday. Nothing much happened yesterday, except for the fact that i hit 0.7k. LMFAO. And played chronos adv, fun song. Well, need to go do my chinese project. BYE~~
If you've got the courage to do something, you better have the guts to admit it. That's all I can say.

Anyway, you know what? Screw my previous entry as well. I'm going to stop brooding over it. But then again, I don't even think I should be using the computer in the first place! Haha, since school reopened, I haven't even done a single piece of homework and there are tests next week. OMG. Will update on Friday ( I promise, lol.) with hopefully some new pictures of achievements on dm such as, 鬼姫 bsc fc and 秋風 ext fc.

BYEBYE. ^ ^
