2018/6/27 OneRepublicが新たに新曲「Connection」をリリース🤩 自分はリリース後からずっと聴き入ってます😊(彼らの新曲はいつもリピートしちゃうんだよな...) そして今回、このモダンHip-Hop感を醸し出している新曲の和訳をしていきます

go through the motions: 仕方なくする、したく無いことをする

paint a picture: 言葉で表現する、描写する
Ex. Do I have to paint you a picture?
直訳：言葉で言わなきゃいけない？→ まだ言わなきゃいけない？説明しなきゃわかんないの？
give a damn about: 〜なんて気にしない、〜なんてどうでもいい
Ex. I don't give a damn about it. そんなんそうでもいいわ。
他にもgive a shit, give a crap, give a fuck も同じ意味ですね
put one's foot to the floor: すごく努力させる、決心を決めさせる、急速に加速する
Ex. She was still worried about that, so I put her foot to the floor. 彼女はまだその事を心配していたので、決心を決めさせた。
最後に、OneRepublicの曲の歌詞を見ていていつもなるのが、どうゆう意味なんだろうって何時間も考えちゃうんですよね。意味がとても深くていつも理解するのに時間がかかります。今回は自分なりに解釈して見ました。Ryan Tedderはあるサイトでこう言っていたと書かれていました "Basically the whole idea was, and a lot of what this album is about, is human connection." つまりこの曲、このアルバム（Oh My My)は人間同士の繋がりをコンセプトにしてたんですね。
