Recovering Relations and Cultural Power!
1．Today’s problems 
Today, the problem between Japan and Korea is getting more and more obvious. Though, when you say “the problem between Japan and Korea”, there are several factors that we need to consider. We can describe three major factors.
First, we mention the dispute over the Takeshima Island. As you know, both countries claim a right to the Takeshima Island.
Second, we have the problem of the difference in the interpretation of history. In fact, it affected a history textbook which is used in Japan. It will cause other countries to protest and to pressurize Japan to change them.
Third, there is reparation problem of WWⅡ. Especially, because of this problem, the relation between Korea and China becomes deeper. The Japanese government is anxious about losing the position in international society. Moreover, Park Guen Hye inaugurated as the President of Korea, and then Japan-Korea Summit has never taken place. Owing to this, it is hard to find a key to solution. Under such condition, how can we find the solution?
2. Historical facts
History will tell us how we should get along with Korean people. I think we got along with them long time ago.
In ancient times, Japan often traded with Koreans.Then, Korean goods like arts were invaluable. It seemed that Japanese people respected Korean people and tried to make them samples.
However, our relation changed in medieval Japan. Medieval Japanese also traded with Korean. Goods that we traded then were materials like cottons. These were not very expensive. It follows from this fact that our relation became not master-slave relation but equal relation.
Edo era, Japanese trade with Korean more often. Our relation looked very good. As you can see, ancient people made better relation than now. I think Japanese and Korean understood beautiful points of cultures each other. So good points of each cultures may help us to become friendly.
3. Solution 
In this topic, we would like to suggest cultural point of view. It is complicated and difficult to recover relations in political point of view. So we think an effective solution is a mutual understanding of each other’s culture.
Japan has beautiful culture. Such as kabuki, no, and zen. Furthermore, Japan’s pop culture such as manga and anime is recently very popular. Korea also has beautiful culture such as interesting drama and cool artists. These are popular in Japan and called “Kanryu” or “Hanryu”. A few years ago, the drama “Fuyu no Sonata” was a big hit among Japanese. Moreover, Singers such as KARA are also popular. The word “K-POP” is well known in Japan. Japan and Korea has wonderful culture that another doesn’t have. If we try to understand each other by means of knowing culture of another side, it perhaps becomes a chance to recover this complicated relationship.
