This blog is dedicated to #りくりゅう pair skaters.
I fell in love with them after watching their performance at the 4CC Colorado Springs this year. At first, i saw someone tweeted a clip of Miura/Kihara struggling to breathe on the rink, and i was curious if they were OK, because i saw news report stated that some skaters collapsing because of the high altitude. So i looked for videos of the full performance.
After i watched their FS, i was shaking and overwhelmed. Both of the struggling and smiling on their faces...were so touching! It was a WOW! moment i never thought it would come from a pair skating game. Because, honestly, I used to think of it as a cool mannered sport with beautiful coreography and a classical music and stiffed faces, which is not my cup of tea. Somehow it's completely changed when i saw Miura/Kihara gliding happily (and strongly) on ice, along with the song Atlas : Two on the background.
Even though there were some mistakes, they still did their best to the end with smiles. It was impressive that i started looking hungrily for more videos and articles about them on social media, and i think i've consumed almost every pieces of information that i can comprehend.
But it's still not enough.
So here i am.
I can neither read nor speak Japanese language, but i signed up to this platform anyway. I rely heavily on the google translator to get the stories and context about them. The outcome amuses me, though. I think i could understand quite well how their fellow citizen talking about them. They are cherished. And it seems that the #RikuRyu fans are a group of people with positive thinking, bright and energetic, just like the pair.
I think i will stay here for a while, or may be, a long long time.
