It is beautifully written, and pictures are all very magical. The underground room where the Mole lives and the world above the mole are depicted wonderfully together.
The mole was living alone underground but once he saw a man play violing beautifully and orders one for himself. He practices everyday for many years and started to imagine that one day he plays in front or many people, even King and Queen. He dreams that his music might change the world.
As he dreams and play the instrument, in the world above him, soldiers stop fighting, throw away their sward and start to shake hands with each other. In the end they all fall asleep peacefully under a tree.
I wonder, like in this book, the music ever makes magic to stop fights on this planet.
この本の素敵なところは、もぐらのじめんの下の世界とそのすぐ上の地上のせかいをあわせて、だんめんのようにかいてあるところ。
全てのえがとても可愛らしく、色使いも素敵です。
一人きりでじめんのしたにくらしていたモグラが、バイオリンを弾き始め、いつからかいろんな人たちの前でひくことを想像し、王様やお妃様の前で演奏することも夢み、そしてじぶんのおんがくがせかいを変えられるかもしれないとかんがえます。ちじょうであらそっていた兵士たちは、モグラのバイオリンを聴いて、剣をすて、互いに手を取り合います。そして、さいごは皆が木の下で平和に眠りにつきます。
争いの多いせかいで、この本の中のように、音楽で魔法がかからないものかと強く思います。
