The World Economic Forum assessed how each of 140 countries is tourist-friendly. It labeled that countries as from rank zero, very unwelcoming, to rank seven, very welcoming. Aside from the factor of welcoming, it considered how those countries are attractive and competitive. The competitiveness included the level of the infrastructure, whether they had plenty of natural resources, or how one could make an outstanding business travel.
Today's lesson was a little uncomfortable because of the disagreement of our talking speed. Throughout the lesson my pace of talking exceeded that of the tutor's. I tend to adapt the speed of thinking to my own talking speed, and tend to adjust my talking speed to that of the other person. This means that very slow talking speed of the other person greatly influences my talking speed, leading to the limitation of my own thinking speed. I don't think it's desirable to use my brain in proportion to the talking speed, but now it is the case for me. That's why today's lesson was not so much comfortable.
When I encounter this kind of situation next time, I think, it's better to occupy most of the talking time for myself and to positively lead the conversation. And above all to separate thinking speed and talking pace is what I need the most, also in Japanese, my mother tongue. (17th April, 2013)
