 Rice is growing well

white egret ?

Although the amount of abandoned farmland has been increasing recently here, there are lot's of rice paddies around  my house.

Rice planting is over and  rice is growing well.

I don't know where the Reiwa rice turmoil will lead, but I'm sure we'll have delicious rice this autumn.

I told a farmer whom I know, "Thank you for growing rice."

It is only when something we take for granted is no longer there that we realize it was not so.

Irrigation Canal

Looking at the water makes me feel a little cooler.

Current persimmons.

In autumn they will become sweet or bitter persimmons.

Hydrangeas are blooming beautifully in the heat.

It's beautiful.

Due to the continuous heat, I canceled my evening walks and hadn't walked for about a week.

I woke up early yesterday, so I went for an early morning walk.

"The early bird catches the worm."

As I passed by the lotus pond, my eyes fell on lot's of lotus flowers.

By the evening the flowers have wilted, so it was my first time to see so many flowers in bloom.

It was slightly cloudy yesterday morning and the sun wasn't out, but I was sweating as I walked.

I  drank plenty of water and  cooled  my body down.

Trumpet Creeper

This time, words of a bulletin board is

"It's hot, isn't it ?" has become a greeting, these days.

It's too hot to do something during the day, so I spend lot's of  time surfing the internet in an cool air-conditioned room.

The House of Coucillors election was anounced on July 3.

The voting day is on July 20.

A heated battle will be waged every day.

I can't imagine how tough it must be to campaign in this scorching heat.

But they are all really tough.

I hope they don't get heatstroke.

It's 33 degrees

celsius now, and it's very hot today too.

I can't go outside.

So I uploaded some cool-looking flowers.

Waxyleaf Nightshade

Formosa lily ?

Stokesia

In the eary morning , the weather was unsettled but it has cleared up now.

It's sunny and very hot.

It's about 30°C now.

So I decided to cancel my walk today.

Sunflowers, the summer flower, are blooming everywhere.

Sunflowers blooming vigorously towards the sun are a flower that suits summer perfectly.

By the way,

these are black sunflowers, blooming in the front garden of the evacuated house of mystery writer Yokomizo Seishi.

The Kindaichi Field in the front garden of Yokomizo Seishi's evacuated house is filled with black tulips in spring.

Oakleaf Hydrangea

Hydrangea

Rainy seaon began about a week ago.

It's very hot and humid today.

I sometimes needed heater until recently, but it's over 30 degrees in many parts of Japan today.

I'm worried about how hot this summer will be.

Summer means the appearance of mosquitoes, centipedes, cockroaches and snakes.

It makes me sigh.

I changed my wardrobe  from  those of spring and winter to those of summer yesterday .

I wonder where  spring and autumn have gone.

abandaoned farmland (lots of common cattail)

Oriental Reed Warbler(Image from the internet)

Recently I've been hearing a noisy bird call day and night from the bushes near my house.

After researching online, I found out it's probably Oriental Reed Warbler.

This bird sings in the summer and is apparently used as a seasonal word in HAIKU.

The call is called "gyogyoshi" and is famous by Kobayashi Issa's HAIKU

"Gyogyoshi, born mouth first."

 It's really loud.
