Hi all this will be my first vlog.
I am fully Japanese but I will be writing all of my vlogs in English because I want to.
Recently, I watched two films: Pulp Fiction and Oppenheimer. They were both written by two phenomenal directors, Quentin Tarantino and Christopher Nolan.
The first movie was entertaining and very new. It gave me a sense of pop and drama while keeping the movie's theme static and not confusing. The movie gave me a sense of satisfaction after I watched it. It felt nice. I recommend people watch that movie, it may be gross for some people to watch it with your own responsibility.
The second movie however gave me a lot of thought and gave me the motivation to start vlog. Weird right. The movie is about the father of the atomic bomb himself, Oppenheimer. But while I was watching the film, I got very sad.
It was because of one scene where Oppenheimer stepped on the corpse of a human(child?) and the corpse cracked.
If you think about how the corpse's face would be, what he/she went through till the moment of death, I couldn't help myself from stopping the film and closing my eyes. It is pure terror and heartbreaking what a single bomb could do to many living, innocent human beings.
Recently, the topic of war in the Middle East has been massive. People often argue about who they support and who they dislike.
People who support Israel consider their actions as self-defence and see Palestinians as some kind of animal. On the other hand, people who support Palestinians see Israel as a dictator committing genocide on innocent children and see Israel as present Hitler and evil. I see both of their points. I must confess that I used to support Israel as I don't believe in or like terrorist attacks and what Hamas did was wrong. Even to this day, I am disgusted by terrorist attacks. However, I am more on the neutral side if not more towards Palestinians nowadays. People can oppose my ideas with other facts they have, but I think what Israel is doing to citizens in Gaza is wrong and there is no justification.
I am going to expand the story more.
The US election is coming in a month. People have to decide to vote between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. I personally believe that Kamala Harris is not suitable as US President and the same goes for Donald Trump. I feel bad for Americans and makes me sad that those two people are the best 2 Americans they have. I think that Kamala Harris supports the idea of the ceasefire but no one really knows what she wants to do once she becomes US president. However, Donald Trump supports Israel. Once he becomes the new president, he will most likely not perform any act to Israel from stopping what they are doing.
I believe both cannot say anything risky as it can lead to losing votes. Hence they might change their stance on Israel-Palestine once they become the president.
Nevertheless, how they treat this topic as some kind of campaign makes me want to puke. They only see the people's lives as their own "cards" to win the election. Hate to see that people can be this disgusting and say what they believe is true out loud because of the power of the presidency, money and donors.
Let me get back to the topic.
After I watched Oppenheimer, it made me sad. Because I linked what happened in Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 to what is happening right now in Gaza. The only cause people should die for is age and nothing else. Definitely not something that involves pain. What Israel is doing currently is wrong and America is more wrong for using this topic as some sort of way to win the election.
People need to wake up and start saying their voices out loud if they believe that's true. (So maybe for some people or in reality what I am saying can be completely wrong and that is completely fine. Tell me about it.) All I want to say is that there are so many people who make mistakes but don't realise it is a mistake and what that mistake can lead to.
And I am certainly the one who makes a lot of mistakes.
Sincerely.
