This is a new Omega watch. Diving features of the 44mm case include: a 2. 5mm
thick domed Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, a unidirectional

meters. The crown is positioned a 4 o’clock. The dial at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock is
equipped with double indexes and a split triangle marker at 12 o’clock, allowing

pointer, designed not to obscure reading of the time. Its movement an ETA
2893-2, automatic with ‘Woodpecker neck’ adjustment and custom decorated rotor.
Features include a second time-zone / 24-hour display, stop seconds and 42hrs
of power reserve.
Omega is known for their Bahuaus designs, with clean

. There are two variations, though both feature
in-house automatic movements and come in low price.
While color isn’t
entirely new to Omega, most of the brand’s watches are of the more monochromatic
variety. The Ahoi takes the familiar black and white Tangomat dial and updates
it with shocks of luminous blue on the hours and minutes hands and glossy red on
the small seconds hand. You’ll also notice small luminous markers on the hours
at the outer edge of the Ahoi’s dial, a nod to the diving
inspiration.
But the Ahoi isn’t just diving-inspired – it’s an actual
dive watch, complete with screw-down crown, crown guards, 200m depth rating, and
special waterproof strap. The black mesh strap (though leather is also included)
takes its inspiration from the lanyards used on locker keys at German public
pools, a whimsical touch meant to recall learning to swim and playing with
friends rather than deep sea diving. This strap is closed with a new
double-sided clasp that can close anywhere on the mesh replica

Inside the 40mm steel case is one of two in-house movements, either
the Omega. The Omega though is slightly modified, with a larger date window than
typical. Both calibers are thin, automatically-winding, and beautifully
decorated in a typically German style. While the Omega is definitely sportier
than most of Omega’s other watches, there is no mistaking where it comes
from.
The Ahoi will be available sometime over the summer, an appropriate
time if you ask us. The Ahoi without the date will be low price, both of which
include the leather strap and strap changing tool along with the special mesh.
