ゴールデンウィークも終わり、
日常に戻りつつある今日この頃ですが、
昨日の広島は風邪も強く寒かった
寒暖差激しめなので、みなさんも体調お気を付けくださいね
ところで、ふと立ち寄ったショッピングモールは、母の日一色
筆者は、ゴールデンウィークが終わったらやってくるこの一大イベントに、
いつも準備にバタバタしてしまいます
反省です。
みなさんもそうだと思いますが、
「母の日だ
カーネーションかな～
いや、アジサイがいいかな～
」
と当たり前のように考え至るわけですが、ふと思いました
「母の日ってどうやって始まったんだろう
」
バレンタイン
は、チョコレート屋さんの商売戦略だ、
なんて話を聞いたこともありますが、母の日の起源は知りません
早速検索してみます
ちなみに、気軽に検索ができるこの環境にも思いを馳せちゃう筆者です
小耳にはさんだ話ですが、現代人が１日で触れる情報量は、
江戸時代人の１年分、平安時代人の一生分の量に相当するそうです
たまにはデジタルデトックスしないといけないかもです

脱線しました。母の日の起源を調べました
起源は諸説あるようですが、
昔いらっしゃったあるアメリカ人女性が亡きお母さまに感謝を伝えるために
追悼のカーネーションを配ったというのが有力話のようです
お花をもらうのって、やっぱり特別でとっても嬉しいですよね
また、世界各国にも母の日はあるが、日にちは各国違うそうです。
ノルウェーは２月だとか
面白い。
バレンタインもあるから忙しそうです
そして、陽気な国民性を誇るイタリアでは、
感謝も愛情も普段からしっかり重めに伝えているので、
母の日がそこまで盛り上がらない、とありました
これまた面白い。
驚いたとき、うれしいとき、
多くの英語圏で、「Oh my god」と神さまに話しかけるのに対して、
イタリアでは「Mamma Mia」とお母さんに話しかけるんだそうです
母を最大限に尊敬して愛しているからこそですね
すてきです
本日の脱線２回目です。
さて、やっと、本題に移りましょう

I have heard that the amount of information a modern person is exposed to in a day is

I digress. I looked up the origins of Mother's Day.
There are many theories about the origin of Mother's Day,
The popular story seems to be that American women gave out carnations
to express their gratitude to their deceased mothers.
Receiving flowers is very special and makes us very happy.
Also, Mother's Day is celebrated all over the world,
but the date must be different in each country.
Norway is in February, for example. Interesting.
They are also busy with Valentine's Day.
And in Italy, which boasts of its cheerful people,
they usually express their gratitude and love to them in a very heavy way,
Mother's Day is not so exciting in Italy. This is also interesting.
When surprised, when happy,
in many English-speaking countries, they say "Oh my god",
in Italy, they say "Mamma Mia".
This is because they respect and love their mothers to the utmost.
