Kanda River 神田川 is a major being in Takatanobaba

Kanda River 神田川　is 25 km long and runs open through the Metropolitan Tokyo 東京。　　It has been cleaned with a hope that Ayu (10-15 cm) to come back some day and widen for flood prevention.  Ayu sweetfish came back and made people happy.  Ayu swims up the stream from the ocean to lay eggs only in clean water.

Ayu comes up to Takadanobaba 高田馬場、東京都新宿区、around Takado Bridge 高戸橋、where the street cars make a turn.  It is Waseda and Shin-Mejiro Streets cross, 早稲田通りと新目白通りの交差点。

In Spring, both banks of Kanda River have cherry blossoms, 2km between Edogawa and Takado Bridges 江戸川橋から高戸橋.  Pictures were taken at twilight.

Samurai, Yasubei Horibe, is known as the aid in Takadanababa duel (1694) and he has been
storied his killing 3 to 18 opponents. He also was one of Forty seven Samurai of Revenge
for their Lord (1701), Chushingura.
