Charlie Musselwhite liked his first BlowsMeAway mic so much he asked me to make another for a hot element he discovered in his attic. He called me to to tell me he went though a bunch of old mics and found one that sounded really special. When he brought it to me, it was an old beat up Shure 707A shell - and I assumed it had a crystal in it. It did indeed sound awesome. When I opened it up, it turned out to be a plain vanilla 99B86 controlled magnetic element. Just goes to show - 1 out of every 75 or so of these elements is simply really special - doesn't matter whether it is CM or CR.
Anyway, the new mic is cocobolo and purpleheart wood, with Charlie's signature aluminum grill (I make these out of solid aluminum billet). I added a turquoise inlay to match his ring.
