日は暮れて 大師由来の 總持寺に 世の平穏を 独り祈れり

昨日仕事の帰りに西新井大師總持寺を訪ふ
冬至過ぎたるばかりなればすでに日は暮れたり
境内には暗き人影一つ二つのみ
本堂に向かひ来る年の平穏を祈れば内陣は黄金に輝く
Yesterday, on my way home from work, I visited Nishiarai Daishi Sojiji Temple.
It was already dark, having just passed the winter solstice.
Only one or two dark figures could be seen inside the temple grounds.
As I faced the main hall and prayed for peace in the coming year, the interior sanctuary was shining brightly in gold.
