Peaceful risotto

Today I had a dinner with Hasan in Caulfield. It was just coffee at first but it was changed to dinner because I was so hungry.

...Yes, I'm always hungry even my body is tiny unfortunately.
Maybe it means I'm not economical?!

Anyway, Hasan suggested to go to Nino's which provide Italian food. That was my 2nd or 3rd time to go, however it was 1st time to order risotto today.

Japan would be considered as rice country rather than bread. Of course many cultures have entered to Japan and lots of people prefer bread than rice recently. Food culture over the world is interesting to concern buyer behaviour... ah, perhaps I shouldn't talk such an awful academic topic here. (Because I'm very bad student!!)

Like dog person or cat person, I'm rice person anyway.

But the risotto was regrettable taste, unfortunately. Have you tried the risotto (pollo) there? It was just OK taste, and I finished it off because Hasan treated me the meal. Then, I decided to cook risotto by myself when I want to have risotto at Nino's, anyhow.

Why did I decide to cook risotto by myself rather than having at Nino's?
Because it was like a soft fried rice for me!

It was supposed as Italian, but it was Chinese for me...
Does it mean fusion food?! If so, it should be too much fusion!!

My friend works as a chef in Adelaide Hyatt. He likes fusion food and he says that fusion dishes have to respect the taste each other.
I strongly agree with his thought! Fusion is not fighting each other, taking good parts from each tastes then create new taste. If the fusion food was like a war, it should be finished calmly as soon as possible and produced better relationship.

However, today's risotto was definitely like a war which China versus Italy. According to this war, China won against Italy too much though Nino's has to provide Italian! The meal is like that Chinese encroached on Italian. I think this is very strange, don't you think so?!

Anyway I enjoyed the dinner with Hasan and my stomach was satisfied very much. However I couldn't be satisfyied the Nino's presentation of the risotto today, unfortunately.

Food satisfys us, but it is given by not only taste or quantity of food. We want to be entertained by nice food, service, atmosphere and more in restaurant, don't we?

At the moment, I'm so interested in nice food including fusion food. So, if you know nice and peaceful restaurant in Melbourne, please let me know :)

Lucky or Unlucky

Today I went to Melbourne airport to see our beloved friend, Shamim off with my friends, Kavitha and Hasan. We had lunch and coffee at the airport and checking our strong friendship to make sure.

In these 2 months, I went to airport twice to see my friends off by the way. Last time was for Esthi and today was for Shamim. Always seeing friends off makes me a little bit sad, but today was not so much as Esthi's. It was funny seeing off actually today.

What's happen to us?

When we're in check-in counter, firstly Shamim's luggage was too heavy to check-in. (Yeah, we were international student here, so sometimes it happen, I guess.) So we tried to unpack and organise the inside luggage then pack again many times. Fortunately, he made it finally. (Thanks, Malaysian Airlines!)

Shamim was lucky today. He could leave some items to Kavitha and Hasan.

Then we had lunch at food court. Me and Hasan had a burger combo at Hungry Jack's, and Kavitha and Shamim had Asian food. It was good, but a person on the next seat was asked something from airport guardmen. According to the talk, he was trying to take aircraft photos with using binoculars.
He was taken to the office. We don't know how he was after that... Maybe he was unlucky today.

After the meal, it was 3pm. Shamim's flight is 3:40pm, so I thought we couldn't have the last coffee unluckily today.

But...we had!

As you know, all flight companies require us early check-in and going to gate as soon as possible. Shamim had only 30mins before the take off, but we had coffee in comfy couch!!! I think it's amazing (like George Michael).
Perhaps I should have said "Hey Shamim, you have no time!!" in such a situation. Unluckily we have too strong friendships and we don't want Shamim to take off?! (We're so sorry, Malaysian Airlines!)

Anyway, when Shamim went to passport control was about 10mins before the scheduled time, 3:30pm! (I think it's amazing, too!!)

After seeing him off, we went to toilet. Surprisingly, I heard his name was called by announce there. This was my first time to hear my friend's name in airport actually!! Maybe it was one of our good memories?!

In Japan, there's a proberb of "All's well that ends well".

While we were watching the Malaysian Airline's aircraft taking off, we hoped Shamim was in the aircraft.

...Did you successfully get on board, Shamim?! If so, you're very lucky guy!!
