New contact lenses!!!

I bought new lenses yesterday with my dad's credit card. With a little coaxing, he let me use it!

My Super Nudy Grey lenses will expire next month and I need new ones to replace it. We will also have our US Visa interview on August 5 and I wouldn't want to wear my glasses lest I want to look dorky and haggard.

I look terrible with glasses on.

I've been hearing a lot of positive reviews on Geo Medical's Princess Mimi Lens Series lately so I blog-hopped to take a closer look at what the raves were all about.

I instantly fell in love with this color, Princess Mimi in Sesame Grey. The design alone is gorgeous. And it looks even more gorgeous when put on!

Tsubasa-san's promotional poster. She's wearing Sesame Grey lenses in this one. Maybe it's just the lighting effect or photo manipulation but the lenses make her eyes pop!

I also like the fact that these lenses come with grades!!! I can't wear non-graded lenses because they'd be useless to me as I'd be blind as a bat.

I ordered a pair yesterday at Shoppingholics - 2 Princess Mimi Sesame Grey lenses with -2.50 grade for both eyes. I had a little trouble with the Paypal shizz but I finally got around it! Checked the status of my purchase today and voila!!!

They've already been shipped!!!

I can't wait to get my hands on them!!! Also, another reason for the excitement is I'll be receiving a cute animal head lens case with them for free!!! I really want a pink one but unfortunately you can't choose which one you'll be getting.

But you can buy one for only 3.90USD per case.

In other news, it's overcast in our city right now. The news says there's a storm coming this way.

I only hope for everyone's safety.

Meanwhile, with the cold and gloom, it's the perfect time for snuggles and hot coffee. I hardly moved out of my bed. I could sleep all day!

Sherlock is also enjoying the bed weather. Warm and comfy little ball of fluff.

Missing U Lip Balm Review

People often tell you not to judge a book by its cover. But it's hard to resist grabbing Etude House's Missing U lip balm when you first lay eyes on the cute packaging.

I got mine in Panda Peach, of course -- pandas being one of my most favorite animals.

If you're not much of a panda lover like me, don't fret! Etude House offers the lip balm in 3 other cute animal containers, each one having a different flavor to suit your preference.

★Panda - Peach

These products are intended to help spread awareness for the protection of these endangered animals. I'm not sure if any portion of the profit made is given as a donation to animal shelters or preserves.

Review:

Packaging:

- It's a panda container. Nuff said.
- Also, it's advisable to use a cotton bud instead of directly dabbing your fingers on the product to avoid the spread of germs.

Price:

- A bit expensive for a lip balm. It costs around 275php (500円) for 13 grams of lip balm.

Performance:

- The balm isn't sticky at all!!! You won't have to fuss over your hair sticking to your lips.
- Yummy!!! I'm not much of a peach fan but this one is delicious! I actually have trouble keeping myself from nibbling on my lips every now and then. Heh.
- It's also very fragrant.
- Staying power isn't that great. It can easily wear off. First application usually lasts for 2 hours before I have to reapply again to keep my lips from chapping.

Final Rating:

- I would repurchase this product just because it's too damn cute and I want to collect all 4 and add it to my kawaii collection.
- A word of advice: DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT DROP THE CONTAINER

. It is not durable and prone to dents and scratches if not taken care of properly.

I accidentally dropped it when I was rushing to get my car keys from the shelf.

I've tried fixing itby pushing the dent portion out to straighten it but I wasn't very successful.

I wish I weren'tso clumsy. I creys forever.

Stickers!

Today, my cousin and aunt leave for Manila. Tomorrow, I'll be driving my uncle to the airport for his trip back to Manila. And on Sunday, they'll board a plane that will fly them miles away from us, crossing oceans and borders, to a place on the other side of the world which they call home. And everything will shift back to normal again.

How I hate normal.

Goodbyes, even temporary ones, were never my strongest area, so with their departure, I am left with but a little heartache. It will be years before we see them again. My cousin has already informed us that there is a big chance that he may not have time to visit next year because of university. They had to leave early this year because he still has Karate training to attend. He was gloomy today, even worse than the overcast skies we had. Every year, he gets teary eyed when it's time to say our goodbyes. Last year was his worst yet, crying in the bus and making his mom worried from his sudden outburst. This year wasn't any different.

I wish Germany was just a mile away so we could visit them anytime we wanted without worrying too much about expensive airfares and pocket money. But if that's the case, their visits wouldn't be as special as it is anymore, would it? So I guess this is okay. It's not the best laid out plan but it works.

In other news, voila! I bought stickers!

It costs around 30php (55円) a pack, really cheap

I started with the heart stickers and vandalized my camera.

The adhesive is pretty strong but doesn't damage the gadget. I've actually tried peeling the stickers off. It doesn't leave a sticky residue that can be annoying to remove completely without the help of babyoil.

I'm not much of a decoden girl. I prefer minimalist blinging for the main reason that I don't have much aesthetic bone in my body. I could squeeze out all of my aesthetic juices and it would still be inadequate to come up with at least a decent looking decodened gadget. So one or two stickies is enough lest I want to completely ruin expensive stuff.

My trusty Lumix GF2 in all its blinged glory.

I haven't given it a name yet.

Happy Tea Time Cleansing Foam Review

Like I mentioned in my previous post, I will be reviewing the products in my latest cosmetic haul. And to start off, here's the new cleansing foam I requested my mom to buy for me from Etude House.

A blogger once raved about how good this product is to her skin. So being the curious cat that I am, I've willed myself to include this in my shopping list. I checked the product price on Etude House Philippines site just to make sure if it could fit my budget and was really amazed at how cheap this is. For only 148php (円278), I could have a 120ml tube of cleansing foam! It was an offer that's too difficult to resist.

So I asked my mom to buy it for me. I have Happy Tea Time in Milk Tea because anything milk tea is automatically on my good side. This product also comes in other 'flavors' of tea.

✿Green Tea (Green) for clarifying
✿Milk tea (Light Brown) for softening
✿Lemon Tea (Yellow) for revitalizing
✿Peach Tea (Pink) for brightening
✿Aloe Tea (Blue Green) for moisturizing

Anyone who loves tea will surely find this product a delight. The subtle fragrance is my favorite part. My cleansing foam smells creamy, almost good enough to make me want to try tasting it.

Of course, no matter how yummy a product smells, please don't induce them as they have added chemicals that could upset the stomach.

Verdict:

Packaging:

- A cellophane covering under the cap prevents the foam from bursting out of the tube and causing a mess from pressing it accidentally which is great if you're clumsy like me. Other than that, nothing out of the ordinary.

Frangance:

- Product has a mild fragrance which can be yay or a no-no depending on one's preference. I think it's a little too mild for my liking.

Price:

- Very friendly to the wallet for only 148php (円278) a 120ml tube.

Performance:

- Not for everyday use at it has a tendency to leave your skin squeaky clean and dry. Always use moisturizer after using this product.
- The product claims to be suitable for all skin types but I wouldn't recommend this for those with sensitive skin.
- Can cause itching in the face. I've tried this for only 2 days and my face hasn't stopped itching ever since.
- Cannot thoroughly remove make-up. You still have to use a cleanser after it.
- It did make my skin very slightly softer.

FINAL RATING:

- I wouldn't exchange my skin's health for the product's price and fragrance. Sad to say, this product isn't cut out for me and I have to let it go. I would rather spend my 148php on something else.
