G-50 has a moderate degree of cross-linking, featuring a porous and hydrophilic structure, which makes it suitable for the separation and purification of biomolecules. It is mainly used for separating substances with a molecular weight in the range of 1500–30000 Da, and is applicable for protein purification, desalting, and molecular weight determination, among other uses.

Ⅰ. Due to high hydration volume, the upper separation limit for polysaccharides may be only 15–20 kDa.
Ⅱ. Column bed height should be optimized (recommended 20–50 cm) to improve resolution.
