What is confirmed by echography of pregnant women's medical examination
"23 weeks of pregnancy", which is the 4th week of 6 months of pregnancy, corresponds to the middle of pregnancy. The baby in the stomach is already able to hear some outside sounds, and may react to the noises heard in the stomach.
Echo examinations (ultrasound examinations) in the middle to late pregnancy have confirmed six main things. First, measure the length of the fetal head, abdomen, limbs, etc. to see if it is growing normally and if there are any abnormalities in the shape of the heart, brain, chest, tummy, spine, etc.
Also, check the orientation of the baby, such as whether it is a breech birth (breech) or sideways (breech). The amount of amniotic fluid and the position of the placenta are also checked. If there are any abnormalities, select an appropriate delivery method in advance and prepare for postnatal treatment.
If the cervix is very short, even without contractions or bleeding, the risk of preterm birth is high, so cervical length is also measured. Also check where the umbilical cord is, whether it is wrapped around the baby's neck, the number of blood vessels, and whether it is drooping. As you can see, the echo examination checks a lot of things.
