Today, while SNS become more and more larger, it has also various problems.

We are going describe some ideas in order to solve these issues through this blog. Likewise, we'd like to deepen your recognization about SNS.

We've roughly divided our blog into 5 parts:

What SNS is.

In these days, you might hear the word ‘’SNS’’. And you might have already used SNS.SNS has radically developed for recent years and has played a large role in the industrial development of global information-oriented society.

By the way, do you know what SNS means? SNS is the name which is shortened ‘’Social Network Service’’. The name ’’SNS’’ is a general term of industries which provide us with systems which enable us to communicate with other people across the countries. Then, let me introduce some famous SNS. As you know, ‘’Facebook’’ and ‘’Twitter’’ have already been very popular all over the world. There are no longer people who don’t know these SNS, today. ‘’mixi’’ and ’’Line ’’ are very popular among especially teenagers in Japan. As far as I know, most of teenagers in Japan use these SNS. But, seen from world view, they are less popular in the other countries than in Japan. Next, I’d like to introduce about an influence of SNS for our life.

Today, we can communicate with the other people very quickly, even who live in foreign country thanks for SNS.On the contrary, an influence of SNS for the society has already been pretty big. Nowadays, the government is no longer able to suppress these activities which harm to them on the internet because of high anonymity of SNS. Thus, the government has often been overturned by people who adopt SNS. And once people get fanatical on the internet, nobody stop them. No one has a means to calm them down. Every now and then, some people feel themselves distressed, using SNS. In fact, some people died of SNS due to these feelings. In a nutshell, we can say that SNS has two aspects; useful and dangerous. SNS can be lethal weapon to kill the man.

The actual condition of SNS

Next, I’m going to introduce present use of SNS. As we know, recent years, SNS industry has been developed radically. It is very high speed. But you might not understand the SNS’s actual condition. So, I would like to explain the actual condition of SNS and details.

Today, as you know, people all over the world use SNS. And there are numerous people who use SNS. Thus, we are not able to correctly understand how many people use SNS because the number is too big to inspect and there are so many people who have some accounts.

Then, do you know which SNS is used in each country? First of all, in order to understand reality of SNS, we have to know the most popular SNS in each country, I think. In general, I definitely point out Facebook as the most popular and well-known SNS in the world. I think that nobody has an objection of this idea. In each country which SNS spread, Facebook is the most popular and well-known SNS except two county: China and Russia. It is pretty interesting phenomenon for me because these countries are originally the Eastern bloc. Seen from my view, these countries are conscious of their nationalities due to a cold war. Although they may not subliminally think they are conscious of their nationalities, they unconsciously refuse SNS which was born in the United States as a leader of the Western bloc. Thus, in China and Russia, the SNS which isn’t Facebook, are very popular. Especially in China, Facebook even doesn’t rank third.

Following Facebook, Q zone is the second largest SNS in the world. You might think Twitter is the second largest SNS. But do you know Q zone? Q zone is the SNS which is the most popular SNS in China. Since China has large population, this SNS ranks second.As you saw, there are some countries which has own unique SNS in the world.

Tradition

Thirdly, I’m going to explain to you the tradition of development of SNS. Today, SNS is normal tool to communicate with other people. But it is not popular tool until it is 2000s. But, in 2000s, the number of the user of SNS has increased radically in ten years. So, in this part, I’m going to describe the tradition of the number of user of SNS. And then, I’d like to consider the reasons which make SNS bigger and bigger and the reason why the people come to use SNS in next part.

Now, I’m going to start to describe the tradition of the number of the user of SNS by using this chart. This chart shows the number of the user of SNS in Japan. Although there also is reason why I picked the chart which shows the tradition of the number of the user of SNS in Japan, I’d like to introduce what this figure shows. As you can see, this figure shows the tradition of the number of the user of SNS. From this figure, you might know how rapidly Facebook becomes popular. Likewise, you can also see how popular Twitter is from this chart. Even in Japan, there is a lot of the number of the user of Twitter. So you can easily guess how many people use Twitter or you are not able to understand how many people use Twitter because there are too many people who use Twitter.

While you can also understand that domestic SNS like mixi suffers from the development of Facebook and Twitter. This is the one of the reason why I pick up this graph. I wanted to compare foreign SNS with domestic SNS. And we also have to have an eye on developing SNS ‘’Line’’, it is not mentioned in this figure. I’m not going to mention Line here, but this SNS might become one of the touchstone which shows how domestic SNS competes with foreign SNS. Thus, we have to continue to check out this SNS with care from now on.

What makes SNS larger #1

From this part, I’m going to consider what makes SNS so larger or more popular. Although various people have remarked their opinion which is right to the point, their view is too small to see comprehensively the whole SNS. So, today, I would not bother to see it abstractly. Seen from abstract view, you might be able to see the whole figure of SNS. According to this theory, I would like to suppose some idea which makes SNS bigger. There are two reasons which support my opinions: easy and loneliness.

First of all, I’d like to inspect SNS from abstract view. Before an electronic tool which enables me to contact with other people appear, the main tool which enables us to communicate with other people is correspond. As you understand this fact, the human have intrinsically desire to communicate with other people. Even today, we use a letter to communicate with other people, but it takes a long time. Although if you are not in a hurry, correspond is a one of the tools to communicate with other people, in recent years, the speed of contact become more important. Thus, we become to require contact to be speedy. When people just started to think of this, the cell phone with e-mail appeared. Since people want to communicate with other people fast, a cell phone pervade very well and radically. At the same time, e-mail also pervaded immediately. When a cell phone became be in common, people want to communicate with other people speedier. Moreover, we want them to be more convenient and easier. That’s why SNS was born. Thus it is not bombastic to say people’s avarice made up SNS.

As you know, SNS provides us with ability to communicate with other people with easy. From here, I’m going to investigate what makes communication through SNS easier. I’d like to propose some idea to think this matter; a time lag. A time lag is a one of the reasons which makes SNS bigger. For example, when you give a call someone, he has to get call in order to make a conversation with you. But for he is not in front of the telephone, the conversation won’t occur. So, you and he must be free each other. But a time lag system solves this matter. For instance, when you write something on the page of SNS through internet, if person with whom you want to communicate is not on the internet at the same time, the person with whom you want to contact will be able to see what you write after he finished his work. This system is often called ‘’time line’’. And you are also able to show to people whom you allowed to see with ease what you write. This function is also a one of the reasons why SNS become very large.

So far as you saw some reasons why SNS became so large today, seen from human’s desire, you might understand what makes SNS larger. To sum up my talk, there are two systems which make SNS larger and absorb us: a time lag system and public view system. And you might know how you are absorbed in these contents of SNS if you see SNS from some aspects.

What makes SNS larger #2

As I have looked at what makes SNS much bigger, so far, in this part, I’d like describe another reason why SNS became so large. In these days, the newspaper or TV and some media say like this, ’’SNS made people lonely and alone’’. Of course, I also think that it is true. But seen from opposite view, we might say ’’the loneliness made up SNS’’. Although you might feel strange when you hear this idea, I think it can explain how SNS became so larger.

Generally speaking, SNS alienate a person and another one and it make our relationship heartlessness. It might often be heard and you may be convinced this idea. As I’ll say again, I think it is right to the point. In fact, compared with old age, we might less communicate with another person with face to face. Also we spend more time in your house than previous days. And these surmises have already been proven by a lot of people, as a matter of fact.

But I’m going to introduce my opinion from here. On the contrary, I also think like this: Our loneliness created SNS. It can be interesting idea for you or boring and you might think that it doesn’t make a sense. Let alone the people who accept my opinion, I can understand the reason why you are opposite to my opinion. However, it is a fact which has already proven by our history for a long year from ancient ages. As a matter of fact, we have created new tools to communicate with another person. For example, telephone and pocket bell even including letters, are typically. People have invented these tools for declining their loneliness. Thus, I think that SNS is nothing with a type of tool which alleviates our loneliness. So, people become addicted to SNS to alleviate their loneliness and this phenomenon seems to make the society separated from some view.

To sum up my talk so far, SNS is a modern social communication tool which enables us to communicate with another person easier. The actual condition related with using SNS in each country depends on each country’s custom, practice, identity and so on. And in these days, some media say that SNS made our society alienated. Although it is right to the point, it is a one of the aspects seen from result side. In fact, we can say that our loneliness has created various tools to communicate with another person. And SNS is also a type of tools to communicate with somebody.

In conclusion, we can’t but help escaping the advent of the society which consists of SNS. In near future, SNS will be made use of in various fields: politics, education, ad, economics, science, religion and so on. When the society which is related with SNS very closely, if you have right knowledge to SNS, you will be able to adjust new society.
Thus, we who live modern society, have to know SNS’ nature and how to make a good relationship with SNS.

The beginning of ＳＮＳ

I would like to write down “the beginning of SNS”. At first, let’s look at the view of world wide. SNS is not only used by Japanese people but also used by people all over the world. The first SNS began in 1994. It is the globe.com. “The globe.com” was an internet startup founded in 1994. Next, Geocities started in 1994 as well. Geocities is managed by yahoo and yahoo Japan. It is free and offers web site. Next, Tripod.com began. Tripod.com is a web hosting service owned by Lycos. It started in 1995.

These SNS site is the beginning of SNS. We do not get used to hear these SNS all. By the way, what are these SNS sites like? These SNS sites started as the form of online communicating. It looks like the SNS site of modern time. These SNS sites “the beginning of SNS” offers chat room, useful funding tool and the freedom and cheep place. At the view of sharing the personal idea or information through the personal website, these SNS sites were pay attention to. From these things, the first SNS is very simple. Some of the SNS sites, for example classmates.com could connect with each other by the way of opening personal e-mail address.

The late of 1990s it is the center in social networking service that user could find the similar user or user having same interest by managing friend’s list. It is the fundamental of SNS. When user could find and manage friend, and new social networking service was established, a lot of SNS sites improve the function promotable.

Reversely, at the view of Japan, what is the first SNS? mixi? Mobage? Twitter?facebook? that is all no. maybe you will be surprised, or you never heard. So, it is Gree. I was surprised. Because, I think that mobage or mixi are first SNS site. I think that Gree is recent SNS site. Gree started in 2004. Mixi is next to gree. That is, the beginning SNS in Japan is Gree.

At the world wide, the first big SNS site is SNS I think everyone know. It is started in 2003 in America. To conclude, the beginning of SNS or the first SNS is very minor, and maniac. Maybe we did not hear once.

Next, blog I would like to write the terms of development.

Development terms of SNS

I would like to write about “development terms of SNS”. Before, I wrote about the beginning of SNS. That time, I introduced about strange or unknown SNS sites. Maybe, you did not hear those SNS sites. Of course, I did not know those SNS, and I have never heard those SNS site. However, I would like to explain about development terms of SNS. So, you probably hear or know SNS sites that I will introduce.

By the way, at the view of world wide, the new era of SNS site is SixDegrees.com. This SNS site was managed from 1997 to 2001. And user accomplished one million. Friendster appeared in 2002. Because of it, SNS site had been diffusing reality. And SNS was occupying the main corner of internet. At continue of Friendster, MySpace and LinkedIn appeared in 2003. And, Bebo appeared in 2005. Because of it SNS the fame of SNS has increased.

At the time of 2005, there is the fact thatMyspace over google. And facebook that everyone probably know appeared in 2004. And Facebook became the biggest SNS site all over the world. In 2008, various SNS sites appeared, and about two hundred SNS sites appeared by intimating this model.

The other side, Miyukinet which is a membership system appeared in 1996 in Japan. Thanks for it, Japan find the first road of SNS. Miyukinet finished in 1999. Myprofile which is conscious of a general idea of social networking service and has main functions of friend each link, post-office box, profile indication appeared in 2002. This site was managed by personal person Uchino Haruzi. At continue of myprofile.jp, 2003 December SIV connect which is maching study only specific terms in SFC incubation Village started. And Gocoo which is each maching service of charging a fee started.

2004 February 21th GREE started by Yoshikazu Tanaka. It was run in personal managed. Probably you are using GREE. I registered GREE once. Same year the late of February, mixi was opened, and March 3th mixi was opened officially. At the step of 2004, GREE is the biggest SNS site in Japan that is, there are a lot of number of membership. And GREE swell the center of Event. 2010 April the number of membership of mixi exceed twenty million. It is the development terms of SNS. Thank you.

I introduced the development terms of SNS, today I write down the spread terms of SNS.

Firstly, after starting the service of “mixi” or “GREE” 2004 February, SNS spread among Japan definitely. At the same time, in the world of mobile internet the project persons who offer the same service appeared.

2004 April 7^th “serchteria” which is what is called the first SNS site of Japan started the service of “ktst.jp”.

And the other project “p-top”, “PNE community” by TEZIMAYA , “terepa” by zeekrest started 2004 August. “Frerin” was started by nifty 2004 October. 2004 September E-maecury started the service of mixi. User is often available to the SNS at mobile phone. 2004 December Gocco started the service of only mobile phone a calling card Gocco.

SNS merge to the game. Users who are available to SNS are young. To attention to these points, SNS connecting with game is appearing. Mobage town managed by DeNA succeeded to gather young customer by connecting with game. And the point of 2006 November the number of membership is over two million. And the number of membership in Mobage town is the highest in Japan. As a matter of fact, I play game in the mobage town.

It is so good for SNS to connect with game. As the same of communication by online game, throughout the mobile phone, many user exchange the information of capture, compete high score and activate communication each other.

These things many SNS site appeared now. By connecting with various things, SNS is growing up now. Certainly, we are available to some SNS sites. By the way, what is SNS like the present? I would like to search the present SNS. Anyway, thank you for reading.

I introduced the spread terms of SNS in the previous blog. There, I explain how SNS grew up from now. Today I inform you about the present of SNS. Now a lot of people all over the world are available to SNS. So, I would like to introduce the present of SNS.

In Japan, the previous SNS sites take in the various function, handle an article of a lot of newspaper firm or mass communication. There are a lot of kinds of portal SNS sites.
