The English idiom "salad days" means a time of youthful inexperience. The phrase has a contemporary vibe to it--or so it feels to me, at least. But ナイキ SB t was first used in the 17th century in Shakespeare-s "Antony and Cleopatra": "My salad days/ When I was green in judgment, cold in blood ..."
A Japanese translation given by Yushi Odashima, a scholar of English literature, is "wakaba no jidai" (a time of young green leaves). A much older Japanese translation by novelist Shoyo Tsubouchi (1859-1935) is "mada funbetsu no aokatta namana no koro" (when I was like lettuce, still green in judgment).
