Love this film and I only watched it this year cos I felt that it would just be another throw away rom com but it so much more and I really found myself being emotionally invested by the end of it and really agree with your point that the dialogue is what makes this movie shine above the rest of films from the shame genre.
This scene was actually cut from a recent US airing! My family was watching it and my mom told my younger siblings that this part's absolutely hilarious (and she's a socially conservative devout Christian. only for everyone to be confused that this scene was skipped over.
This movie taught me that Ethan is too good for any of them ♥️.

Prime example of when they dont want to marry, its actually because they dont want to marry YOU because theyre unsure about you. Same thing with “Im not ready to have a bf/gf” followed by a bunch of excuses (Ive been busy with work, my ex and I just broke up, Ive been stressed, etc. When someone is sure about you and they really want to be with you, there will be NO excuses. There would be no “Im too stressed with... ” “my gf and I just broke up”. Yeah, theyre just with you to hangout and fool around with until they find the person they actually want a serious relationship with. In their eyes you arent enough. Its the bitter truth and I post it here so you guys will realize your worth and not be with people who always make excuses.

When harry met sally is one of the best movies i have seen. i had always heard of the movie but never seen it until it came on TV last year. once i saw it i loved it and was hooked on to it. so much so that every time the movie would play on TV i somehow managed to stick thru it for the entire movie, i.e. till it end. i recently purchased the DVD too and have seen it at least 4 times since. its a great movie that u can watch alone or with friends n family. billy and meg both of done a fantastic job in the movie. their chemistry is undeniable and the movie is just so good. the script, the dialogs and the entire narration is just awesome. the director has obviously done a great job to take a great story and script and present it in an amazing manner. for anyone who has not seen it, pls Mk sure that you do. it is a Must Watch. you will love it just like i did.
