This painting was inspired by the movie "Garden of Words" directed by Makoto Shinkai. The movie was very beautiful and moving, and after watching it I really wanted to paint a scene from the garden that the one in the movie was based on.
In my visit to Japan I was able to see the Shinjuku Gyoen in person, however I did not have any photographs so I went onto Google Maps and started to walk around the park virtually through my computer until I found an image that I was happy with.
I then began to paint it digitally using Adobe Photoshop and a tablet pen, and now today I finished!
