I really feel like some close up cut aways or a reaction shot of his daughter would have helped disguise De Niro's age. I love a good Scorsese one shot take (Casino's Costa Rica scene being my personal favorite) but a 40 year old man would kick stronger than that and it saps power out of the scene because of that one shot take. This scene is like an asterisk on a great film.
I heard you paint houses.
The wheelchairs are on. the house.
Guy getting beat up deserves an Emmy for trying very hard to make De Niro look tough.
I know how you feel about this Frank, i know. But he's going.
Been funny if Pacino was eating pudding. Graham is crazy bout putt-putt.
It's no home alone 2 but its pretty good.
This scene reminds me of Hitler's rant in Downfall.
Haha worst scene in the movie, you can digitally de-age Deniro, but you can't make him move like a young man. Should have put his face on a young double.
Why is my heart pounding from watching this trailer 🙈.
“I dont need 2 roads coming back to me”.
1 of a 1000 working I wasn't no I started painting.
Deniro: “This is gonna hurt me more than its gonna hurt you.”.
That thumbnail reminds me of Moe Greene.
To the greatest guy 560 is lucky enough to ever have your our boy Tony pro were all yours.
I enjoyed Pacino's performance in this. Not only is he similar to Hoffa in stature, but it was like a mix of his 90's-era bigness with some of his 70's-era pathos. It was an entertaining contrast to De Niro and Pesci's more subdued characters.
Jimmy : I stole money.
Music so humorous :joy.
Stephen Graham is actually English not Irish, hes just of Irish decent like loads of Brits, like me for example but people born and grew up in the U.K. tend to identify with that more than Ireland.
Fun fact: that was an actual (black and white) photo of Albert Anastasia's crime scene in the barber shop. Fun fact 2: It is highly suspected that Crazy Joe Gallo was one of the hit men that killed Albert Anastasia in the barber was later killed in 1972 by Frank Sheeran. (Which happens in the movie.
Stepen Graham is an excellent actor. And as a Provenzano he nailed this.
Yeah, if you're a mobster and you see another mobster approach you unnanounced, start shooting.
This accent graham used is the exact same one he used to play capone.
This really a life lesson never sit in the front lmao.
The tracking shot mixed with the music is masterful.
Pretty sure Russell's friend he's talking about is Carlo Gambino. Accepted history is that the powers that be got together and decided to allow a hit on Anastasia so his underboss, Gambino, could slide into the spot.
Respect from France. This movie is a masterpiece.
