Mulan movie.
This is the second time I watched this movie and its really good ♥️.


 


The view and expectations towards women in asian cultures was well portrayed in the film. The art in focusing on the realistic view of the story was inspiring. The scenery, action sequence, and martial arts was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that Mulan wasn't westernized in the way people had wanted to was very empowering because too often foreign stories are westernized and molded to fit the western agenda. The cast and acting was superb. The theme of bringing "HONOR" is very important to asian culture so it's refreshing to feel understood thus the constant reminder throughout the film was important. Mulan was the FIRST story to show how a WOMAN fought to be seen and treated as an equal by defying traditions, ignoring public opinions, and being honest to herself by being herself openly. This film was very empowering.

The movie didn't even make shang/mulan an important arc, talk about mulan's character development. make a man out of you. can you guys rewatch the movie to understand it? ALSO MULAN NEVER ACTS LIKE FEMINITY IS BAD, AND NEVER ACTS LIKE SHE WANTS TO BE A MAN.
I don't really like the movie Aladdin but this in 3D is Amazing.
They could have at least kept Shang 😭.
I can't be the only one that ins't a little bummed about Mushu not being in this.

I cant believe how legitimately good this remake is, even improved upon with Jasmines character arc. I watched this out of boredom one night thinking it was probably directed too much at kids and ended the evening enthralled.
