Activision Blizzard announced today that it donated $2 million to its Call of Duty Endowment, a non-profit organization that helps soldiers find jobs after their military service.

In addition, Activision Publishing announced that it raised $1.7 million for the Endowment through the sale of limited edition dog tags. These were available through the holiday season for $5 at more than 12,000 stores across the country.

"We are committed to our veterans," Activision CEO Bobby Kotick said in a statement. "They put their lives on the line for our freedom and security. They all have unique experiences, skills, and capabilities that should be highly desirable to any employer."

According to Call of Duty Endowment executive director Dan Goldenberg, the combined $3.7 million will help support the group's recently announced chapterization strategy. Through this new initiative, announced last month, grants will be given to veterans' organizations that are able to expand by opening new chapters that offer employment services for military veterans.

In 2009, Activision founded the Call of Duty Endowment with the purpose of offering funds for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other groups to seek jobs for veterans. Activision reveals that more than 1,000 veterans have found jobs up till now due to their efforts.
