毎日ワールドカップで寝不足が続いています(笑)。
メキシコが前回大会優勝のドイツを倒し、多くのメキシコサポーターが涙を流していたのを見て
私もほんとに感動しました。
そんなワールドカップと並行して行われていたのが、男子ゴルフのメジャー大会の１つである全米オープンです。
私もゴルフをやっている人間として、メジャー大会は常に注目しています。特に日本人初のメジャー優勝を目指す松山英樹選手、そしてアプローチの天才 フィルミケルソンに熱い視線を送っています。フィルミケルソンは僕の憧れで彼のアプローチ本も購入して練習していました。
そんな彼が３日目13Hで、まさかの珍事件を引き起こしました。パッティングの後、動いている球をそのまま打ってしまったのです。
動いたボールを打った場合は通常2打罰が選手に与えられますが、ミケルソンは「罰打と理解して上でやった。喜んで受け入れる。」と故意でやったような発言をしまいました。
このミケルソンの行動や発言が世界のゴルフファンの間で大きな物議を醸しました。
私個人的にはミケルソンのような選手でも、ついカッとなってあのような事を起こしてしまうんだなと、逆に安心しましたが(笑)。
私はここで今回のミケルソンの行為や全米ゴルフ協会(USGA)の裁定について何か述べるつもりはありません。想定されていなかったことが起こってしまったのですから。ただ今後このようなことが起こった場合にどのように対処するかが重要だと私は思います。
私の意見としては、今回のような意図的に動いた球を打った場合は、今後100％失格とするべきだと考えています。( ルールとして漠然とは書かれてはいますが(笑) )
まず、高速グリーンなど難しいコースセッティングの時に、この行動を許してしまうと多くのプレイヤーが戦略的に２打罰を取り入れる可能性が出てきます。私は優勝がオーバーパーになるくらい難しいコースも年に1,2回はあってもよいと考えていますが、このような行為が行われてしまうと難コースでの大会が難しくなってしまい、個人的には面白くなくなるというのが正直なところです。
もう一つの理由としては、単純にゴルフプレーヤーとして見苦しいということです。もしこのルールを利用して優勝されても、誰も優勝者を称賛しないでしょう。
様々な物議を醸したこの問題、皆さんはどのように感じましたか。皆さんのコメントお待ちしております。

I continue to be sleep deprived every day because of the Russia World Cup.
Mexico beat German, the champion team last World Cup. Tears of Mexican supporters really impressed me.
The US Open Tournament, one of the Mejor Championships, was held in parallel with the World Cup.
I take notice of the Mejor championships especially Hideki Matsuyama, who aim for the first victory for the Japanese person at them, and Phil Mickelson, a genious of approaching. I admire Phil Mickelson and purchased his book in order to practice golf using it.
However, he triggered a rare matter. He hit a moving ball after patting.
If a player hits such a moving ball, he must take 2-shot penalty.
He mentioned "I took the two-shot penalty. It's my understaning of the rules."
His action or utterances was caught in major controversy among golf fans around the world.
I was a little surprised that even he got mad and took such a action.
I won't mention his action or a decision of USGA in this case because an unanticipated thing happened.
We should discuss next management.
In my opinion, if a player hits a moving ball deliberately, he should be "disqualified".
First of all, it is likely that a lot of players take advantage of the 2-shot penalty rule strategically at difficult courses - fast green. This action may make it difficult to hold tornaments at difficult courses.
Another reason is that players who did such an action are't cool. No one would not applaud the winner if he took the advantage of the rule.
