Day 4 - 雪祭り!!!
Next up on our schedule was what I considered to be the main reason for actually coming to Hokkaido, and that of course was to head to the Yuki Matsuri that was at Odori Park and Susukino area in Sapporo. It's been 3 years since I went and saw the lovely sculptures, and couldn't wait to see them again. Thanks to those memoriesas well, I remembered my way around Sapporo quite well, and was able to guide the others around fairly well enough without getting insanely lost.

We began the day insanely late, since people were sleeping till roughly about 12pmor so, and so we made our slow way to the lovely city of Sapporo, and went to first eat our lunch at Freshness Burger, which was in Susukino. Afterwards we would make our way to see the ice sculptures in Susukino, to which of course I was ecstatic to see once again XD Unfortunately, the ones i saw 3 years ago were much more impressive, based on the fact that the ones this year weren't as hilarious, though this year did have an ice sculpture of gundam which made it better. In any case, itmay have only been me that was this happy, but having come all the way to Hokkaidofor the festival was worth it XD.

After seeing the sculptures, I made a single run to look around for the 500 yen bar, and then met up with the others to ride the ferris wheel in Susukino. Afterwards, while having gone to gaming for myself for a bit, the others stopped off at Starbucks to rest for a bit, and afterwards made our way to Odori Park. As always, the snow sculptures were much larger in scale, and infinitely more impressive than the ice sculptures in Susukino. We also got to listen to some absolutely hilarious indie J-pop trio performing on stage, with some hilarious dancing and lyrics, coupled by terrible singing voices. Oh well, made it all the more fun XD

However, it was unfortunate that our rounds around the park were cut short by people getting cold and wishing to go eat dinner, to which i suggested sushi sinceno one else would really want to eat anything else apart from Freshness burger. Not sure if everyone else enjoyed it, but in any case, afterwards everyone else decided to leave back for the hotel, hoping to see the rest of the sculptures onanother day, whilst I split off and went by myself to finish off my rounds. In the end, as we never went back to see the sculptures, it was great to see them all XD. In the end, whilst I was insanely happy to see the sculptures once again, my mood was suddenly getting worse and worse <.<

After heading back to the hotel relatively late, it was the end of yet another tiring day, with the following day set for skiing, or so i thought...

It's been yet another month since I've updated this blog, and once again I find myself getting more and more bored with writing this thing...its already 7 months in, and I don't want things to end...In any case, I must now catch up with another month's worth of events, which to be honest, aren't all that much considering I've hermited myself in my room for half the time. In any case, next on the list is my trip to Hokkaido with classmates, coupled with some toned-down ranting to be done.

Day 1/2 - Ferry trip + stranded
Well, all I can really say is that the trip towards Hokkaido wasn't the most pleasant of all experiences, not including especially the fact that whilst we arrived at the station early and despite the ferry being delayed by a few hours, we actually didn't know the way to the port itself. This would turn into the terrible events of shouting out our disdain towards the town of Tsuruga for having placed the ferry port in such a terrible walking distance away from the train station. Thank god for the fact that the ferry was late, else we wouldn't have made it.

In any case, following our terrible trip towards the port, it was followed by the fact that the seas were insanely rough, which led to everyone on the ship feeling absolutely nauseous and pretty much knocked out for a large portion of the trip. Harry in particular, was literally knocked out due to a bad case of sea sickness. In any case, not really much to say about the trip to the place either, though it was long and painful, and the lack of reception made ranting a lot less manageable.

This was then followed by the fact that once we did arrive in Hokkaido, thanks to the initial delay, we were unable to head to our destination as planned, and had to stay at the ferry port overnight, waste a night's paid accomodation, as well as have a lack of access to food due to being stranded in the middle of nowhere...however, at least we survived, and we were in Hokkaido!!! XD

Day 3 - Arrival at Otaru
The following day, whilst being insanely tired due to the terrible trip experienced, we made our way towards Otaru, a long 2hrs away from the port. Upon arrival, as expected we were only able to enter our rooms once it was the afternoon, so until then we dumped our luggage at the hotel and decided to make our way around the lovely Otaru. Ahh the memories of having come to Otaru 3 years ago...XD...in any case, we decided to slowly walk our way around, and as per usual, unable to really decide on anything to eat. Eventually, we went to a small cafeteria to eat a few small things, and afterwards, decided to split off for a bit and meet up to enter our rooms. Angela and I decided to first visit the Venetian glass museum and the music box shops, as the others were not interested in such items. After having spent our time there, we were finally able to enter our rooms.

However, upon entering our room, I realised the fact that whilst we had paid for a 3 person room, it was clearly one set for 2 people...this is evident by the fact that there were 2 beds, 2 towels..well, 2 of everything. While I initially thought that sleeping on the couch would do, there was no way I would be doing that without confirming such an error. At least we were able to change to a room with a sofa bed, which was actually really nice to sleep on XD

We decided to eat dinner at Victoria Station, which is a nice family restaurant that is branched from the Big Boy franchise, with cheaper prices than its normal counterpart. In which case, the fact that there was an all you can eat salad bar for a good price was reason enough for people to eat there frequently =P.

After having eaten dinner, we looked around the nice snow sculptures alongside the river, and then made our way back to the hotel for a good rest, which ends our actual first day of events in Hokkaido XD.

If you're reading this, I'm sure you would have heard my rants about the nomikai by now, considering I've retold the story a number of times, and while the rage inside me dies down every time i retell the story, I still get annoyed by many thingsthat happened that night. In any case, on with my rant.

For the final nomikai, while it was initially planned that the teachers would end up organising the party itself, it would seem that a general lack of interest fromeveryone, possibly because of exams, meant that I eventually became the organiser...though becoming an organiser purely because I decided to confirm numbers is beyond me, and so would a number of other things that would eventually pop up during the course of the nomikai. In which case, as it was during the exam period, I couldn't be bothered to check out other Izakayas and decided to go back to the one we went to for the second nomikai, and decided to book for 20 people, in case people don't turn up or randoms turn up.

In any case, as I booked the numbers, and (somewhat) confirmed who was attending, it would end up at around 18 people, as more people from the class got word about the nomikai, and wanted to attend. In which case, including the 2 people that I didn't really know, it would end up at around 20 people, which would be just right.

Now, at this point I think I shall introduce a certain person who I now hold a grudge against, and shall take lengths to not communicate with due to the events of what happened on the night. Now, prior to the day, upon being told about the event and its location, this person ended up telling me that the place was no good, and that I should change restaurants, without giving any valid reason. Considering the obsessive compulsiveness I get when it comes to organising things, thended up annoying me a fair bit, but I decided to leave it. In my opinion, the place we went to was pretty good, though I guess the service was fairly slow. However, without a valid reason, nothing can be changed, especially not a few days before the party.

In any case, on the day of the party, I ended up spending most of the day with 姐姐 prior to the party, where we pretty much walked around Kyoto, and I went toplay my gaming XD apart from that, nothing too noteworthy happens, just ate omrice, played gaming, went into a bookstore, starbucks, and more gaming. After that, by the time of the nomikai, everyone eventually showed up with a few latecomers, and we made our way to the place. However, with regard to the latecomers, it would seem that there would end up being one extra person coming, and having therestarant accomodate that in terms of seating and what not. The only thing that annoyed me was the fact that I wasn't told about it, nor did I not like the factthat everyone expected everything to turn out the way they saw it.

Other things that annoyed me ended up being some people directing me as to what I should be doing, rather than saying things themselves, primarily because I became the organiser, in addition to being told once again by said person, that I the place wasn't really good, and eventually, being told that all further partiesshould be organised by said person, as he knows the better places. This pretty much took me over the edge, as I am very mindful of such things when it comes to me organising, and to say that while drinking a huge amount ends up really pissing me off.

One of the things that ended up cheering me up a bit was the fact that I lost a bet to 姐姐 with the punishment of confessing to Takeshima sensei upon losing. In which case, I was turned down pretty well, but lightened my mood up a fair bit. That, and the constant antics of Fumi sexually harassing Takeshima sensei was always hilarious, though I guess some people, or most, just found it weird and annoying.

Back to my rant: by the end of the night, and it was time to pay, I would be delegated yet again with the task of collecting money from people. As one of the teachers who left early had paid double the amount, I subtracted a small amount from everyone, though that would eventually come back to kick me, as it would meaneveryone was entitled to a small amount of change back. In any case, by the end of everyone paying, we were left with one person short, and no one would really own up. This obviously leads me to assume that one person did not pay, and eventually, Takeshima sensei fronted up the extra...Now, I am about 70% sure that theperson that did not pay was said person I now have a grudge against, but I can'tconfirm it. In which case, compiling all the crappy things that happened on the night, it really annoyed the hell out of me.

Another thing that happened was that while on the way out, Matt dropped his wallet inside, and I eventually found it after searching, which was all good for him=).

After the night, I walked 姐姐 home as there were no more buses, and she didn't want to taxi due to costs, which ended up having me back home at around 2am or so, immediately conveying this rant to Stephanie who was still awake packing her things. That pretty much sums up what happened that night =P

Next day was mainly rest followed by more ranting, and the day after was mainly holding things for Stephanie as she prepared to leave for Indonesia, then back to Australia. Apart from that, nothing too much happened. Went to karaoke, and then, our trip to Hokkaido!!! Which shall be told in the near future =P Until then,
