下積みが長かった事で知られる
ルーサー・ヴァンドロス
以前、当ブログで
その下積み時代のアルバムを
2枚紹介しましたが
Gregg Diamond Bionic Boogie とSoirée
今回は1977年にリリースされた
彼の名を冠した5人組グループの
2枚目です
制作も楽曲も彼自身が全て担当し
彼の魅力だった
広い音域と都会的で洗練された
ソウルフルな歌唱スタイルは
既に出来上がっていて
実質ルーサー・ヴァンドロスの
２ndと言っても差し支えない
素晴らしい内容の
アルバムだと思います
しかし当時Luther名義の2作は
セールス的には惨敗で
彼は生前、Lutherの版権を
コティリオン・レコーズから
買い取って
再販すること無く封印してしまい
CDとして再発されたのは
彼の死後
２０年近く経った昨年の事でした
