US presidential candidate Rand Paul`s website accepts Bitcoins
On Tuesday, Rand Paul announced that he will run for president and that his website will accept donations in credit card, from PayPal but also in Bitcoin.
In 2014 a number of candidates running for Congress have accepted donations in virtual currency but Paul is the first presidential candidate doing it.
He has always been the most tech-friendly member of Republican Party,
and last year, in one of his statements, he called digital currency technology fascinating and
Paul`s decision to accept the digital currency made him popular, drawing the attention of young, tech-savvy voters.
This is a great step toward Bitcoin`s being acknowledged on international forums and maybe in the future other people would embrace it for their campaigns.
