Kiko's delivery
Well, Kiko started growing a big belly... gradually she slowed down her speed on her daily routine. She was no longer able to run or jump and sleeping became her favorite activity. Miki left to her job as usual and I stayed at home. I work at home so I can manage my time with more flexibility and so, but Kiko acted very strange that day, her face was different barely when she moved from her bed; since the morning little she ate and her eyes some how were telling me the time of the delivery arrived, but I was not that sure of it. Around 7 p.m. Miki arrived home and Kiko moved to greet her very slowly, her face changed to something like "finally you came mom!". I was briefing Miki on the strange mood of Kiko and then I turned to check on Kiko and she was on top of the sofa licking herself and I noticed the first puppy was about to come out! I rush with her to the second floor where her bed was; Miki got some towels and Pibe followed us in every move we made.
...and the first puppy was born. I helped Kiko with the first one, it was a female! Then Miki helped with the second one, another female. I don't know how to explain this but I was expecting a "boy" and I look to Pibe and I joked about the two first "girls" and then the third puppy was coming. "This is the boy" I said, but then Miki says, "Is a girl!".
"Oh come on! Pibe! this is the 3rd puppy and the doctor says only four puppies!". I wanted a boy, "come on! come on! 3 girls one boy!?" And the fourth puppy came... Miki looked at me and says "...is a girl!". I could not believed it! All black little girls! "Pibe! You are useless!". So I gave up, I wanted to have a boy, but now it's over, even Kiko stood up and went to stretch her legs downstairs for a while. We all fell more relaxed, even Pibe got the chance to take a look to his 4 girls and then Miki came with her hands extended in front of her and screamed: "look!!"; and I looked at what she was holding in her hands. I could not recognize what she was bringing at first glance but then... another one! and it was a beautiful gold girl! Wait a minute says Pibe, a gold dog? Kiko went to the balcony to deliver their sixth girl! "Pibe!! Six girls!?" To be honest the new girl looked a little bit strange among her other black sisters. Pibe started to get into depression; I even read his ideas on how Kiko was able to deliver a blond girl. So I said to Pibe "hey dude!, ...come on! relax...take it easy body ...it's not the end of the world, these things happens all the time!" And I was trying to make Pibe relax when Kiko deliver another gold puppy and Miki says... "is a boy!!". Pibe and I started to jump around the room. We didn't care the color! after all, it was the boy we were waiting all night!

Yeah... I know, I'm cool! ...tell me more, tell me more"
We moved to a bigger place!
We got a new place near the old one. There, life went easy for Pibe and Kiko. For them, it was a time to learn, exercise, play and to enjoy nice meals, our meals too. I remember one day we came from work and we found brown spots on the floor and a familiar cake smell all over our place; they found a bag of chocolate powder and ate it to the point they got sick. Dogs are not supposed to eat chocolates but Pibe and Kiko ate an entire bag of chocolate we just had receive from a friend. You could see on their face how much they were struggling with the "side effects" of those chocolates. All of the above combine with long walks around the Arakawa river. But basically until then, apart from those bad moments, life was beautiful.
Kiko turned to 11 months and until that time she was Pibe's little sister. But she had already grown into a beautiful gracious girl and then we realized that none of them were neutered. The days passed without us being able to decide who should be taking inside the surgical room. So the day of Kiko's first period came and Pibe changed completely into a different dog; from this little mama's boy to a real Casanova. I had to be the shadow of Pibe to avoid Kiko being attacked by maniac Pibe.
I tried everything one could imaging to prevent Kiko from being pregnant, but after a long day, I fall asleep and Pibe took her for a honey moon trip. I tried to separate them even with a cold shower but accordingly to the veterinarian, in the dogs world it just take a couple of seconds to make puppies. Kiko in fact got pregnant.
The doctor confirmed us the news and I told Pibe "you are so 'baka' Pibe! You really did it! Now what we are going to do? You got to get a job!".
hehehehehehePibe. This is how the story begin...

I... can not start this series of tales without introducing "Pibe"; our "Cute Black Angel" English Cocker Spaniel.
On the spring of 2008 Miki and I went for a walk around the commercial area near our new place in Tokyo and with nothing more else to do but just looking around the stores for things to decorate our room, suddenly we found ourself right in front at the entrance of this new Pet Shop and. As everyone else, we felt-tempted to see the puppies on display and we walked inside that shop. After a while the owner himself ask us if we were looking for something special and because I'm some kind of "leave me alone" guy I wanted to free us from him as fast as I could. By the time he approached to us I already knew he didn't had on display any Irish Setter so I asked him: "do you have Irish Setters" and he replay: "nope... but how about something like that but a little bit more compact?" Unexpectedly, that answer call immediately my attention. In the past I used to had among other dogs an Irish Setter and I've never heared of a compact Irish Setter in my life; so I have to confess he really caught my attention and curiously I reply: "Ok, let me see it". He went through a door that took him inside the shop office and a couple of minutes later he came with a little puppy; a black male English Cocker Spaniel.
Miki and I we both fell immediately in love with this little puppy but, there was no way we can had him since we just moved together into a "no-pet" apartment and most of all because ours was a relationship that basically just started. After maybe 20 minutes holding the little dog, we turn it back to the shop owner and we left the shop. That day we walked out of the store with "Pibe" in our minds and the owner of the shop proposed us to keep "Pibe" inside the shop for a couple of days until we make-up our minds. At home we were busy deciding what to do to avoid troubles with the neighbors and landlord, but the only thing we knew for sure was that we wanted to have him so bad.
We could not resist the cuteness of baby Pibe and by the next weekend we took Pibe home and give him a name. He grows in the comfort and love of our arms and especially Miki and Pibe developed this strong bound of love I had never seen in my life. Maybe because Pibe turned to be a male, or maybe because he was her first dog or maybe because I was the one trying to set some rules of good manners to him, but the true is I had never seen in a dog such a sweet-deep lovely way to look at his master, like the way Pibe looked at Miki. This, I have to confess makes me feel kind of jealous and don't take me wrong, Pibe was so sweet to me but when Miki was around, I didn't exist for him. Even more, he started to challenge me every time I try to get close to them.

Pibe grew so fast and soon he was our most precious black treasure, he called the attention of almost every one! He was the pride of our family! But at the same time he was capable of eating almost everything he could find: shoes, Ipods, mobile phones, sunglasses, the TV antenna cable, condense cables, mobile and computer cables, speaker cables, all kind of cables, wood frames, baskets, sofa, etc.

That is when I came with the idea that what Pibe needed was a company of his own kind, or at least that was the excuse I gave to Miki when we were holding our beautiful baby "Kiko" in our arms in the same pet shop 8 months later.

PIBE AND KIKO,
THEY BOTH CAME
FROM A FAMILY
OF CHAMPIONS
Now, we had Pibe and Kiko, another cute English Cocker Spaniel, an impossible offer we could not resist; we had to have her and that was when things went form serious to extremely dedicated, not only because she ate the rest of the Ipod, cables and shoes but because we got kicked out of the apartment. We pretended to keep Pibe quiet in this apartment where pets were not allowed, and to some extent we got successful until Kiko came. She could cry so loud until we take her out to the cage and even more when she was demanding food, and with that temper there was no way we could keep the secret for too long.
One day the door bell rang and there was this gentleman almost in shock when he saw 8 months Pibe barking at him at the door. He asked me: "do you have a dog here!?" To what I reply very seriously (at the same time little Kiko was coming out from in between my legs): "excuse me but... who are you?", and he says
-"I'm the owner of this building!"
The owner gave us 4 weeks to leave the apartment or, the impossible, to re-locate our dogs with another family. Soon Miki started to search for another apartment around the area and I began to do make-up all the damage Pibe and Kiko did to the apartment in order to recover some or part of the money from the deposit. I have to say that I did a great make-up job because the landlord refund us 80% of the deposit money. I'm feeling pity for the next people who came after us, they may ended paying for those damages...

TOBE CONTINUED.
