A fan favorite since their initial release, the Nike Free Flyknit Mercurial Superfly has become one of the more coveted models of the Flyknit family next to the Racers and Trainers. The Mercurial Superfly stands out thanks in large part to its clear soccer inspiration, which has since been tweaked just a bit in order to appeal to the sportswear fans that wanted to wear the shoe off the field. An extended ankle collar and Free 5.0 outsole sets this Superfly apart from the rest of the Flyknit silhouettes, making it one of the more unique and daring designs. After first dropping overseas, sneakerheads in the U.S. can rejoice with the news that the sneaker is now available in select shops across the country.

One of the boldest silhouettes in Nike Sportswear’s current rotation is dropping in another new look for the new year. Featured in only a few colorways so far, the somewhat elusive Nike Free Flyknit Mercurial Superfly will soon get another version added to its repertoire, with this colorway in Dark Grey and black. Actually very similar to an early colorway for the soccer boot-inspired silhouette that released way back in February, about the only difference with this new release is leather replacing the previous version’s heel paneling and speckling added to the midsole.
