After receiving a degree in Footwear & Design from ‘London College of Fashion, Cordwainers’, Nike Lunar Flyknit Chukka
launched her first collection in 2007 at London Fashion Week as part of the British Fashion Council’s Estethica showcase, an initiative that has been designed to represent the growing movement of cutting edge designers committed to working eco sustainably. Since then she has worked incredibly hard to build her brand and has subsequently shown her creations across Fashion Weeks in London, Paris and Dubai.
Her one-day workshop on Regent Street enabled eight keen fashionistas to create a bespoke pair of shoes – in a slingback or ballet pump style – from a range of Liberty print fabrics.
In conversation shortly afterwards, she told me, “I loved the event, it was wonderful to see the Liberty prints being transformed from flat shapes to completed shoes. They all looked completely unique as the girls chose different fabrics, heels, leathers and ribbons. It was fun seeing keen members of the public watching from the windows; you could see from their faces that most of them couldn’t believe we were actually making shoes on one of the busiest shopping streets in London!”
Since then she has received an incredible response to the event. As one of the participants said, “What a fantastic experience! Hetty Rose made something so complicated and technical seem really straightforward. I can’t wait to come along again and make another pair. I am one very happy shoe owner.”
T’was the month following Christmas, my true love said to me, undeck the halls, and put away the tree! The Peace On Earth Hunt has been amazing!!! Where has the time gone!!! Today is the last day of the hunt and there were over 200 Nike Flyknit Lunar 2 this year…such generosity! While I was out today, hunters were too, some asking if the gifts were still out where I was and of course they were! I wanted to do a final room with some of the POE6 furnishings to show how lovely they looked together. You do not have to limit yourself to having them out only at Christmas time! I was trying to tell a hunter this, and decided the best way was just to show! The POE designers are among the best in Second Life and made high quality gifts for us all to enjoy and most importantly, to use!
