Jackson Dynamics Wins Bid On Asbestos Testing Jackson Dynamics Wins Bid on Asbestos Testing(January 28, 2011) Jackson Dynamics of Fairmontâs proposal to conduct asbestos tests on six Happy Valley properties was approved by the Wood County commissioners Thursday.Among the eight firms which submitted proposals for asbestos inspection, Jackson Dynamics was unanimously picked because of its $3,Ray Ban Sunglasses,000 asking price for all six properties, which may require a series of asbestos tests. Other firms are charging per sample if additional tests are needed, and in some cases, did not list the charge per sample for additional ones.Tim Meeks, with the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Council, said it was the best and most inexpensive offer among the bidders. The highest price quote was set at $10,000 from a firm somewhere in Virginia. The other two firms whose cost proposals were close to Jacksonâs offer were from Fairmont and Pennsylvania.Blair Couch, president of the commission, reiterated that this asbestos testing proposal offers a fixed cost,Oakley Sunglasses, while the others were a little open-ended. They said these are single family homes so there will not be much of a need for additional samples. In addition, these costs are reimbursable expenses through the federal program.The six Happy Valley properties were recently purchased by the county as part of a federal flood mitigation program, a voluntary act for eligible properties determined by the federal government. Once the properties are purchased by the county,Ray Ban, no more structures can be built there. The former homeowners who sold the properties will be given another sixty days to leave the premises. The most recent round of federal flood mitigation funding awarded to Wood County totaled $1.2 million.
