When to dribble a basketball after holding it with both hands
When to dribble a basketball after holding it with both flipflop australia hands?
ok so i play basketball for my middleschool and i know how to shoot and make layups and all fitflop austrlia that stuff but i dont know much about the rules. when i get the ball i cant move with out getting a double dribble penalty/foul. fitflop but when i watch games on the nba i see players like lebron james or derrick rose holding the ball in both their hands for maybe around 2 3 seconds and then letting the ball hit the ground again, and i dont see why that isnt a foul? so whats the difference between both?
1.) Dribble the basketball. Then hold it. Then dribble it again. That called a "double dribble". After you dribble and stop. That it. Your option number 3 is eliminated. You must now either pass or shoot.
2.) If you catch a ball. Dribble it and run with it and then stop. You can dribble again or move again. You are allowed to move one of your foot which is you pivot foot. But that hit.
What you maybe doing is moving without dribble the ball. That traveling. If you catch it and pause, you must dribble if you want to move with it. You cant just run with the ball without dribbling. That called "traveling".
But since you noted "double dribble". I guessing you are dribbling the basketball. Then holding it. And then dribbling it again. You can do that. Remember you are only allowed one chance to dribble. So after you dribble and stop, you gotta shoot it or pass it.
