Tokyo-based artist Yusuke Hirata will donate 100% of profits from work sold through Icosahedron's

"A Foot In The Grave" exhibition to earthquake relief funds for Japan.

Earlier this month the 8.9-magnitude earthquake and resulting tsunami and nuclear crisis have killed tens of thousands and left millions homeless without food, water or basic supplies.

僕の所属するアテネのアート協会の美術協会長が日本の為に

的確な行動をとってくれた事に感謝する

今、必要なモノは同情でもアートの力でもない。

生きる為に必要な物資だ。

アート協会が絵を売って寄付を集めるという時間のかかる行動ではなく

迅速なジャッジをしてくれた意味が重要だ。

寄付を行ってくれました。

個人として出来る事なんて限度があるが

今できる事は行動すればよい。

次にアートの力が必要になる時の為にも

4月のNYでの展示でもサムライ魂を見せて来たいと思う。

We now face a big hardship caused by the huge earthquake and the after-shock tsunami.

We are living in Tokyo, it is several hundred miles from the epicenter,

so the towns around us are fine. Our family and relative are fine.

However, the recovery will take months,

no years in the towns and the ports attacked by the tsunami.

We pray for their souls and will create artworks in order to make everyone happy.
