• Study group (marketing)
    • Finalizing work on major case write-up on BARCO case
    • I was in charge of the analysis of key strategy BARCO should take against SONY's upcoming high-end / low-price projector
    • Writing proper in English is not an easy task for me... it took several hours to just write 250 words
    • It seemed I was not fully understanding the team discussion last time, and missing the point... It was a bit embarrassing. I need to work harder
  • Mini-course on leadership
    • About how to read another person's mind
    • The key message is to "ask", not guess
    • It is often said to put yourself in other person's shoe. Though it is valid to a certain level, the caveat is that you need to have good imagination skill to accurately know how the other people may feel.
    • The effective way is to ask
  • Class (Entrepreneurship)
    • Guest speaker: recent alum. She spoke about her entrepreneurial experience in her days. Her speech was well organized and interesting. She quoted many times from the class she took (the class I'm taking), and she respects the professor
    •  In the class, I was cold-called for the first time. I was cold-called at the least desired timing - I was spacing out a little bit and was not listening to the question. I asked the professor to repeat the question - which is already embarrassing - and even after I understood the question, I was only able to give mediocre answer. This might be the most embarrassing moment in my MBA so far. I should not forget how I felt today, so that I do better in the future
  • Assignment (marketing)
    • Prepared for tomorrow's class
    • I think I'm getting faster at reading! Postive news!
  • Mental note
    • What I'm learning from marketing class and entrepreneurship class show some overlap and relevance to each other
    • When things start to connect, it's the sign that things are going to be fun
