TOPIC081220: The '09 Year End Party

The ’09 year end party of Fuchu English Speaking Circle was held by sixteen members at Ookunitama Shrine on December 20th. This was the first experience to have a party at one of the landmarks in Fuchu. We really enjoyed a set of Japanese dishes served on an individual tray called Kaiseki-Ryori. It was quite delicious.

Ms. S.N played a flexible hand roll piano and gave us music intro quiz. Mr. T.M became a lighting staff using a spot light there. And we were relaxed to listen to a song by Fuchu Angels.

Thank you very much for your great preparation, the Event team. And thank you for your kind cooperation, Members. Let’s enjoy studying English continuously next year as usual. See you soon!

TOPIC081129: Yokohama Tour

We held Yokohama Tour as an annual execution by 11 members on Saturday, November 29. It was fine and warm day in spite of early winter season. At each sightseeing place, a responsible member had to guide by own view. It was really fulfilling for all members. Thank you very much for participators and the tour leader, Ms. N. Thanks.

TOPIC071231: 30th Anniversary Party

We had the 30^th anniversary party of Fuchu English Speaking Circle at a convention room of Fuchu City Hall on December 22nd. Over 30 people celebrated together and we enjoyed the party program, foods, drinks and talking.

The famous word for language learners, “Continuity is the father of success”, reflects not only members’ encouragement but also existence of the circle itself.

TOPIC070707: Topic with Ms. Sanae Kawamoto

Ms. Sanae Kawamoto who is the representative of English Time came to FESC as a guest speaker on July 7th. At NHK business English session, Mr. Kondo who was responsible for the session handed out her NHK Bus-E mail magazine of the week issue for our study reference. She expressed grateful for the distribution. At topic session, we had a round table discussion. I saw that she really wanted to ask some but members asked about English learning by turns seriously. You can feel the situation in the attached photos. We could hear her recommendable English learning methods and management of her English café and school.

I know there are many good English professionals but those cannot always succeed in their business. From this point, I think she is a success. I heard that she has obligated herself to her responsibilities and reached step by step. This is the same process as other businesses as we know. So to speak, she has good senses of business foundering and management.

After the class, we shared happy time as a second meeting with her. She was strongly impressed our friendly atmosphere. As she mentioned in her website, good learning friends are necessary for sharing difficulties and cheering up each other. I feel surly FESC is a true example of it.

English RAKUGO

5 members including me went to enjoy English-Rakugo performed by Mr. Kaishi Katsura who is a professional Rakugo story teller on June 10. He used only plain words but not difficult ones. I think we should learn the style not only in performance art but also in business and conversation.
