Salamanca is an old city suited in Castilla-Leon in the north of Spain. Vintage-Inspired: Magnificent Jewelry It has the oldest university and large churches in various styles. Believe it or not, christian louboutin shoes is My Mother's Favorite! It is the important curier station to the pilgrims' way and also the place where Cervantes wrote << Donquixote>>. You have walked into the history and cultural center when you get into Salamanca. No wonder that people call it "the intelligent city". I had no any ideas about the city before I came here. In my mind, Spain is a place full of bloody bullfight scenes and enthusiasm Fulangmingge dance. Salamanca is full of medieval buildings and narrow ancient streets. Those make the city slow, peace, elegant. The new students pass the city, pouring into the city unlimited energy and fresh blood. What is the Best For this Year? Blue christian louboutin shoes Absolutely!
The churches and convents: though the sun is brilliant and the air is fresh, there are also people who wear feather dresses. My touring began from the Plaza Del Concilio d Trento square where it was quiet with Lglesia de San Esteban and Convento de las Duenas standing on sides. It's early, and the most parts of Iglesia de San Esteban were in the shadow, but did not keep it from showing the beauty of the unique facade. This facade had a triumphal arch on it. Which was like a giant decoration of altar. The Convento de las Duenas is enclosed by the walls outside which adds more mystery. But seen from faraway, a sister in white monastic clothes is airing the quits gracefully with her eyes bright. By another glance, she has disappered behind the window.
The new and old churches: walk along the street after leaving the square. On the sides are high walls, many buildings or some windows on the outside walls. The horizon is not so broaden. But you can come to another larger square with green trees rounded after climbing some stone steps. Here is a new Catedral Nuevas with large scales and a Museo de Art Deco with modern art decorations. There are many senior students who have come to view the Salamanca university and admire the scenery of the old city conveniently. The church was built by JuanGil de Hontanon firstly from 1513 to 1560. Later it was enlarged until 1733. Acually in the later stage, there was no enough money, so many details were not finished. In Spain, people never say that they have finished a church but that the project is still on after adding the last stone.
Four large stone arch with fine carves divided the west aspect into several parts. On the central door, the Gothic adorn got over the top line of the arch and the center of lintels, divided some different scenes which were about Bible. The light carves of the entrance attracted my attention. One of the small statue wears spacesuit, and a bear eating ice cream cone! Finding my curiosity, the guide explained the reasons. Salamanca had encountered natural disasters, so that the church had been damaged. Until 1990s, the government granted for the repairing. Maybe the craftsmen felt it was funny, they made the two "fashion" statue to make a jok with the people of Salamanca. The inside building style iwhich unites many elements such as Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque is extremely richful. To distinguish them completely, you must own certain professional knowledge. We were busy savoring the magnificent colorful glass windows, the giant pipe organ and the court with extremely complex carves. But the guide said lightly : "this can not be called beautiful cathedral,I need you to see this--" Then the guide led us to a dome, saying : "look, inside the dome there are the most beautiful paintings and carves in all of spanish catholic churches."
Really it was, the high ceiling of the dome was painted exquisite countless angels, goddesses and flowers. Though historically, the color was fresh, and it had gold outline, making the dome increasingly magnificent. You can get into Catedral Vieja from side of the new church. Though the old church was not that famous as the new one, it also got appreciation and esteem from the people who designed and built the new church. Built in the 12th century, the old church was called a classic architecture of romance. The Torre del Gallo was the most famous one of them. Because the tower has two windows, from where you can see the wonderful lighting effects.
The carves under the arc have active fighting scenes and various griffin pictures. Though it is damaged a lot, the artificial classic has bee restrained. Below the lighting tower is the San Martin church with the frescos in 13rd century. The huge altar decoration of the central apse was created in 1445, it was formed by 53 small diagrams about the story of christ and the virgin mary. The details of both characters and architectures were fine. We can see the architectures and the costumes of the society at that time clearly.
